You're making this too easy. There's a difference between being obstinate and being a bigot. Being a bigot consists of you being obstinate. Being obstinate doesn't make you a bigot. Intolerant is on the same level as bigotry. Both words were used in the definition of bigotry but not in discrimination. That's what allow them to be mutually exclusive.

Allegory claimed that bigotry is only acting against something, not for it. I countered his claim with the text you quoted that bigotry isn't one way. You can be bigoted for something as well, i.e. religion, politics and in this situation, homosexuality. That's the key difference between being obstinate vs being intolerable. In either case, they both fall under the word bigotry.

You took that APPLICATION of the word "bigot" and accused me of making it a definition of the word intolerant, while overlooking the word obstinate.

No. See, you're an idiot. This post you made, it's idiotic. There is nothing that you have posted that doesn't make you sound like an idiot.

In closing, you're an idiot.

Nice observation, I do admit when I'm wrong...Smiley: nod Now, if only others did the same, we wouldn't be having these problems.

Part of being wrong is correcting yourself. I make the necessary corrections and continue with my argument. Since most of "my poss" are over subjective topics, there is no ultimate right or wrong answer.

Well, they're subjective when you're irrational/illogical.

Alma is not the troll Asylem deserves, but he is the one we need right now . . . and so we'll flame him, because he can take it. Because he's not a person. He's a loud beast, a persistent nagger . . . a troll.

BIGOT!

As in one who nags as in to pester or annoy. I'm totally a bigot though. I think that intelligent people are always right and everyone else is wrong. That's proper use of bigot, right? Alma?

FTFY. You're wrong much more than for what you take credit.

So you're betting that it's more likely that everyone on this forum is out to get you than that you're blind to your own bumblings. You're not wrong, the world is wrong.
#1916Almalieque, Posted: Jan 02 2012 at 3:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Not the world, just this site. Please don't confuse the two. When I get rated down for saying "Merry Christmas" in a Merry Christmas thread, "congrats" in a ding thread, "." in the "If you post here" thread, etc., it becomes blatantly obvious that it doesn't matter what I say. Is everyone "out to get me"?, I wouldn't say that, but the aforementioned actions definitely supports the fact there is a special interest towards me.

You don't get treated with decency when you don't show any.

It has nothing to do with you having a differing view of the world and everything to do with how you handle it. Joph is at least somewhat conventionally religious and I have huge issues with religion, but I still think he's a decent person and can get along with him. Ugly probably thinks my interests in anime and manga are a huge waste of time and he isn't timid about voicing his disinterest, but he isn't on a crusade and he doesn't do it just to rustle my feathers. Anna and I had huge fights on the forum about language usage, which sounds trivial but it's a pretty big fudging deal to me. She and I have an excellent rapport.

I can't see that you have any respect for any of the people that have disagreed with you, which makes it so puzzling that you bother with them.

It's just simple little things. When I told you I went through both Belkira and Omegavegeta's posts to see if they said what you were claiming, I put forth and effort to see if your claim had validity. I didn't just assume you were wrong for my own convenience. Now, you claim that Belkira made comments beyond 2 months past which you believe are relevant and you claim that I missed something in Omegavegeta's posts. Maybe I did ***** up and make a mistake there. But what you didn't do is bother to provide anything to back that up. If I missed a damning quote from Omegavegata, then post it. If Belkira has been adamant throughout the years about how there are no reasons in any scenario to ever discriminate against homosexuals, then show it.

And even if you did do that, I'd still probably argue with you about it. But when you didn't bother to show me something that should have easily damned me, then you're telling me you don't feel you have to. If you're fine with that, then that's ok.

But when you don't feel people who disagree with you are worth the time and consideration, don't wonder why they don't offer you the same.

That's an awful lot of words to type to someonne who's incapable of understanding them. Keep it short, to something like, "You're an idiot."

Or at least link a google search of each confusing word, an etymological history, common uses and a list of related words. Ask Kaolian for his mailing address so you can send some pre-made flash cards, as well.
