Where you think I've been for the last 6 months? I knew GG for what it was; a chance for us to tell these social justice idiots to **** off. This has gone way beyond video games though, I didn't expect it would be this large or effective. It is now atheists like Thunderf00t, Amazing Atheist, and Justicar. It is movie stars, sci-fi novelists, lawyers, scientists, and journalists. A conglomerate of people fed up with feminism, social justice, and all their corrupt *********

DISCLAIMER: I don't follow this whole mess other than this thread, honestly, and don't particularily care. The following is just my observation:

Example 1: Tea Party: Clearly has a virulent racist element

Example 2: GamerGate: Clearly has a virulent misogynist element

Example 3: Feminism: Clearly has a virulent misandrist element

What to do? (Pick one of the following)

A. Don't associate with said groups
B. Get rid of the bad elements in your group
C. Accept that your group has hateful assholes in it.

Yeah; no.

D. Golly, not in MY group!



Why? Because each listed group there would say it, Hence, not an option

I am unwilling to accept your premise because it is built on a false supposition. As a thought exercise, it might have some merit. As a critique of the actual group, however, accepting your premise means I have to ignore what I've seen.

Can't we all just agree to purge all heretics? This schism is the real problem in gaming journalism.

When GG first started I thought about throwing this place's (Asylum specifically) name in the hat for place to talk. I mean, I'm sure the admins would be okay with the conversation itself, but the images would probably be more than what is desired. We are talking about people who left 4chan and reddit(before kotaku-in-action).

The image restrictions and the fact that a massive influx of posters from /v/, /pol/, and /b/ would be more than Kao would want to deal with so I decided against it.

I agree with your reasoning here.

I don't think =4 will ever 'die' in the way that say FFXI forums have. =4 is not based on some cyclical marketed game but rather seasoned posters who've established themselves on the forum.

That or we are just too cantankerous and stubborn to stay away. :P

I will say sites like this need to restructure badly. Most new MMO's have built-in objective mapping, recipe lists, etc. Limiting the need for external game-information which sites like this thrived on traditionally.
