Prepare to faint. Goats hate Kotaku. No kidding.

Honestly, I just wanted the excuse to make those stupid puns. It's not really news.

Dude has to just be tired of it. You can only spend so much time around that group before it starts to drag on you a little bit.

Too soon? The commentary reminds, ethics in gaming journalism is no joking matter.

Fooled me. Without paying much attention and cuz it was linked through steam, that's who I assuming it was.

Hey, they also have an article saying that writer and developers from Remember Me are making a vampire-based RPG set in the WWI era.

Hopefully they'll learn how to make a decent game by then.

It was "highbrow" in a videogame sort of way, sort of like how Bioshock Infinite is highbrow for a video game but you wouldn't take it to your literary salon meeting. Future Paris, tinkering with people's memories to change their perception, etc.

Unfortunately the game play itself was pretty terrible with bad fights, ridiculously bad boss fights and an insultingly hand-holding linear path that would literally light up for you. I eventually set it to French language with English subtitles for a foreign film feel that was amusing for a while, then set it to Easy just to plow through the bad game for the story nuggets and then just got bored with it and stopped playing. Never did finish it.

So *exactly* like Bioshock Infinite? Are you sure it's a distinct game?

Nah, Bioshock had capable (but not anything amazing) shooting mechanics and the bosses were mainly bullet sponges. Remember Me had God-awful melee mechanics and gimmicky boss fights -- "hit his leg five times when it's flashing then punch his head twice when he goes down then repeat five times while dodging the regenerating landmines" type nonsense. Which was only hampered by the bad melee combat.

Plots aside, I'd rather play a game with BSI's mechanics ten times before playing one with Remember Me's mechanics once.

I'm going to guess it turned out to be once, though. Not that I was looking for replay value, but I found the game-play super-forgettable, aside from the gimicky sky-hook thing which I found forced and annoying. Better than "This is actively making me not want to play this game" I guess.

Exactly. BSI's mechanics were nothing great but they didn't step all over the story or ruin the game for me either. Remember Me's mechanics made me stop caring about the story because it wasn't worth it to have to physically play the game.

If someone said "I want a fun shooter" though, no, I wouldn't even consider offering BSI as an option.

If playing video games isn't a big enough waste of time for you, watch strangers playing video games.

Actually I kind of enjoy the commentary free play throughs. Nexa and I watched all of "The Last of Us" that way, a game we wouldn't have played for a variety of reasons. If a game has a decent pace and narrative, watching a well edited play-through is basically watching a TV show.

I think that Flea would enjoy the story of BSI since she's into all that Dr. Who/Fringe/whatever alternate-dimension shit but I never found a play through that flowed well and assume she'd be bored trying to watch it. There's some of just the cut scenes but they sort of lurch without the in-game commentary between scenes.

Huh, could be fun to put together a "build your own adventure" on YouTube with the Dragon Age series.

Okay, "fun" may not be the right word.

If you drank every time you heard the word "Discount" or "Enchantment" it could be.
