I know, I know, you're all still /butthurt that Kotaku points out the relationship of those identifying with Gamergate & the ongoing harassing of women associated with it. I can't blame all gamergaters for their crazies, just like we can't blame all tea partiers for theirs, all muslims for the action of a few, or ruport murdoch for instances of christian extremism, but if a video game aggregate website makes the 'spergers of gamergate settle down to the point where they stop harassing folks then I am for it.

Whoops, guess it hasn't appeased them yet!

If someone's butthurt, it's probably the guy pouting months later about Gawker Media being called out on its clickbaiting and stirring the pot and looking to get another jab in Smiley: laugh

All intenet media is clickbait, be it foxnews, huffpost, or gawker.

This more accurately describes my frustration with gamergate.

That's a nice way of waving away the problem. False equivocation for the win!

I like how every anti-GG comic I see has some "disclaimer" saying "If you see something wrong with this, it's because you're a terrible person" and neatly evades any possibility of "It's because the argument made in my comic was simplistic and weak". No, it's only because you're a bad person for not agreeing.

Hey, if you want groupthink and media feeding you a narrative to generate outrage, I understand that Fox News is always looking for new viewers.

You ******* moron.

That's not GG. That's Baphomet. It isn't us AT ALL. I've been talking about that for a while. Our opponents attacked 8chan to get at us. Surprise, surprise, another 8chan board that got caught in the crossfire retaliated. They whacked a tree because they thought it would bring down our beehive. Unfortunately for them, that tree had ******* yellowjackets in it too.

Then they got pissed when we wouldn't attack Baphomet too. Yeah. **** that.

Also, I'm not surprised that The Guardian is citing an article from a site owned by the same company that owns Polygon. I'm sure they have no financial interest in attacking us. Smiley: rolleyes

I would like to apologize for my tone in the last one. I'm just ******* tired of us getting blamed for things other people are doing.

Edit: So apparently there are PCGamer related happenings. My twitter feed is half PC Gamer stuff, half screencaps of GG people who have gotten doxxed or attacked. The latter may be related to the Guardian article, but I'm not certain what's going on with the former, though PC Master Race has been mentioned a couple times as has several references to deletion of incriminating articles. Will edit post when I find something.

Edit: Apparently a writer at PC Gamer, Tyler Wilde, was romantically involved with someone working for Ubisoft and didn't disclose that while writing articles about Ubisoft's products. PC Gamer is reportedly deleting articles. That's enough research for now. Trainee put me behind not just on keeping up with GG stuff, but also with watching MF Pallytime's Heroes of the Storm videos, and that sounds more entertaining to catch up on right now, now that I have a rough idea on what they're talking about.

Haha! I think I made the blockbot! Either that or I pissed off #FullMcIntosh somehow. Smiley: laugh

Anyway, since I'm too lazy to direct source it by logging out to get around the block, here's someone who isn't Charlie.

The best thing to come out of this gamergate thing is it finally gave me a reason to use Firefox's automatic site blocker.

HAHA! TIME FOR ETHICS!

*cough* Ahem. What I meant to say was: "Thank you PC Gamer, for choosing to take the route in favor of ethics and disclosure. Heck, you don't even have to refrain from reviewing something your friend is involved with, just disclose on the article that your views may in some way be colored by your relationship with the subject. It's all we ask. Though I think Joph wants a few copies of your magazine, because he never got them from the Zam promotion. Or maybe it was some other magazine. I dunno. I'm rambling. Anyway, keep up the good work."

I just typed "Joph's house" into Google maps. You should lower your online profile, probably.

I wonder what Amanda thinks about having a cyborg sent into the past as the governor of California.

Wouldn't it be more of an android than a cyborg? Also, whatever it is, it's genetically engineered and gave birth that one time.

Sadly, it sounds like /baph/ swatted someone and got their dog killed(a couple weeks ago, from what I'm hearing). Of course, people are trying to blame it on us. Not sure why it's coming up now. I just know that I'm really tired of GG being blamed for things other people do. Hell, apparently they tried to blame us for Leelah Alcorn's suicide at some point from what I'm hearing(I haven't confirmed that, too tired).

On the upside, I'm going to be on vacation for a week starting Wednesday afternoon, so I'll get a break from work and have more time to game/watch anime instead of watching twitter(may check before bed, but certainly a lot less time), so it should be a good break from drama. Hell, I may even catch up on all those episodes of Grimm on my DVR.

The 'blame' is understandable if not deserved.

You leached onto the publicity generated by hate and harassment to try and promote your 'ahem' other cause.

Hard to keep track, which side is leaching onto publicity generated by hate and harassment to promote their cause?
