What about for those of us that if we dont get 8+ hours of sleep we feel exhausted still? So if we sleep normal hours its like if we didnt sleep at all?

A sleep study would be my suggestion but normally your partner can tell if you have sleep apnea from listening to your breathing patterns.

I have had nights were I've thought I was sleeping for over 10 hours and woke up feeling like a Mack truck hit me. Found out that my brain goes into awake mode (alpha wave) just as I start to go into stage 4 sleep (delta wave). These days if I don't take something for sleep I wake up every hour or so and have problems falling back asleeep. Thankfully I have a doctor who understands FMS and has me on Ambien most nights.

My doctor got on me today about not eating and drinking enough lately.(water, as I'm not suppose to drink the fun stuff.)

I was 134 lbs at the doctor's office and other then wishing I could firm up the tummy and lose a bra size I'm in my target range. At my age I don't expect to look like Twiggy anymore. Not that I ever tried to be skinny, but at one time I couldn't gain an ounce over 111 lbs. Only thing breastfeeding did for me was to increase my bra size from C to my current size D boobies.

I would get more walking in if possible, but I dislike putting myself in pain. No heated swimming pool nearby or I would have reason to wear my bathing suit few times a week.

No pictures unless you are interested in the mamograms I'm getting done next month.

I need to get back on the wagon, too.

The Ensure wagon. That stuff is great - Ensure Plus has 350 calories and 50g carbs per bottle! I really need to get going on this. Ive been living a sedentary lifestyle, sitting on my *** and living off of white bread, whole milk, peanut butter and pasta for months - and I still weigh exactly 125. I do get some decent exercise in walking into town, usually a mile or two a day, and often carrying $50 worth of discount groceries. My girlfriend says I'm toning up, but still not putting anything on. My arms look like tennis balls tied together with shoelaces, and my chest like a venetian blind wrapped in a sheet.

I don't really understand how people can say they're too lazy or too busy to try to lose weight. You're obviously not too lazy or busy to eat. If you really were lazy, like I usually am, then you could go most of a day without realizing you haven't eaten at all yet. And if you really were too busy, you wouldn't have time to eat, or be too tired for dinner at the end of the day.

See, thats a common misconception. Not everyone who is overweight is that way because of overeating. There are a number of possible reasons. I for instance used to eat one meal a day like I said before, because I'm balancing working full time with being a full time student. Normally I just don't have time to eat. When you do that your metabolism slows down to an incredibly bad level because your body is thinking that you're starving, so it starts to conserve calories, etc. Thats why by eating more, I actually started to lose weight. Pretty wierd stuff.

An attempt to persuade Coddy to off himself thinly veiled as a community weight-loss thread. Simply brilliant, folks.

Huh? Are you under the misconception that it's more exhausting or time consuming to stuff a Quarter Pounder in my gaping maw than it is to walk a mile or do 100 sit-ups?

Yeah, I know, I was just being antagonistic. Sometimes I try to **** off fat people with my own weight issue. Eating entire pizzas in a single sitting usually does the trick.

Yes. Yes, I am.

Well, in the long run, at least, you'll be far more exhausted stuffing face than doing crunches. But nobody cares about the long run. They want instant gratification. Give me the body I want now!.

Common misconception, much like Nepththth's. I don't eat anything fried or fast food, I don't drink soda or beer, I have maybe one cup of coffee a day, get nine hours sleep, eat healthy and drink water, and I work out, but I am still a thick girl and considered overweight by most charts. Some people are just built that way. If I was a Hollywood starlet and my job was to look good, I'm sure I could spend 6 hours in the gym a day and hire a chef to cook only macrobiotic meals for me to get down to 120lbs and fit in a size 6 dress. Sadly, my job requires me to be at a hospital eight hours a day, I spend at least three hours a day commuting, and the hours left are used to cook my healthy meals, work out for an hour, and spend quality time with myself and my family. All in all, it's a pretty balanced life. Like others have said, it's more about being healthy and comfortable in your own skin than fitting an ideal of beauty.
