There's a critical shortage of career tanks/paladins, and there's always a shortage of bards and corsairs and support jobs on every server. But don't play a job because it's popular, play it because you enjoy it.

Pld more so than nin for anything endgame related anymore :/ Thanks to recent enmity adjustments to certain spells going nin/rdm or nin/drk just isn't as good as it once was for a lot of things. It's still doable but requires far more effort than it did before. But yeah cat's got the right idea when saying play something you enjoy rather than what's popular. There's enough bandwagon people who play a job because it's desirable and not enough who play the job well or because they like it.

Some older content is kinda lacking in people atm stuff like Sea/Sky/Dyna and so on. I guess there's mixed feelings about 14, some people are all hyped up others could care less. I couldn't tell you one way or another if it's hurting the population any, I've not known anyone to go and quit 11 for 14 yet though lol. With a lot of newer stuff like Abyssea/Walk of Echos/Vnms and things like that people are tending to focus on those especially since a lot of the older gear is getting slowly phased out (but I've heard tell that the Magian quest line that's doing weapons atm is going to be available for armor too? So I guess there's some life in older gear still.) the good thing about that is if there's certain pieces you wanted but couldn't get they'd be more easily obtainable if you found a group for it? The higher level cap did make some of the older content a lot easier too (I've heard sky being kinda laughable with a group of 80's but haven't had the chance to experience that yet, probably next week though.)

I can't really speak for a true cst time zone shell either (That's the timezone I'm in) I just run with my social shell, most of them are on est so it's only really an hour difference so it doesn't through much off. If you want a pearl I'd be more than happy to give you one if you /t Rydin or Daikano in game about.
