Alright, which one of you misplaced the sense of community in Bismarck, fess up!

Seriously though, Gone are the days of people helping other people unless they're a) in their linkshell or b) getting something out of it.
I miss those days on Bismarck, where shouts for lower level things were answered, and not with a "how much will you pay me" response.

Though my biggest pet peeve is with you guys that scurry off into a hidey hole somewhere with a campaign mob, and hold it up for endless minutes. We all want exp, wouldn't it be smarter to fight as a team, and get more fights in a zone faster instead of making 20~ people wait for you to chip away on a Yagudo or something. You want the shiny new Allied Ring, or the Weapon Skill weapons, i get it. but I too (among other members) are trying to get gear, medal upgrades and/or exp (in those cases of jobs like mine, where for some reason they're shunned from a party)

I'd like to see some civility return through the players, we're all working towards similar goals, it's more beneficial to work together than be some jackarse that hampers everyone else for some selfish whim.

It doesn't take long for the "No good deed goes unpunished." to kick in.

The other day in Dynamis I won the lot on MNK AF head, realized I'd never use it, nor store the set, and passed it to someone in the LS that actually wanted it.

Right after the AF dropped, the very next mob dropped BLM AF, which was the item I had commented. The same person I just passed MNK AF to out-lotted me for the BLM AF.

I still do my fare share of helping, but I've long since given up on Karma, or anyone else around me to have any sort of sense of decency/integrity.

Sing, you're very much correct, though if i see someone shouting for help on something i can assist with, i'm probably going to help them because i enjoy random stuff.

IDK, i'm still used to the 2006 way of doing things when i played, i'm just miffed that every time i campaign i'm getting 500 a battle because everyone and their twin sister scatters to the seven winds and hordes a mob -_- I'm debating on just following people to hidey holes and /shouting mob positions -_-

Smiley: lol I was a meathead for like 3 years! I decided to see what life was like on the other side.

It's going really good Qinny! Life's busy which makes the time I spend in FFXI more precious. What's new and exciting with you? I hope everything is going well.

I know what you mean man, Campaign is just utter chaos. The system is an alternative to grouping that the game really needed, but some aspects are just frustrating, like standing around for 5 minutes while players scour the zone looking for the guy soloing the last living mob, or how about when you go to 3 zones in a row to see the NM with only a sliver of health like they were just waiting for you to show up to end the battle.

I try to go during non-peak hours as it cuts down on the craziness a little.

yar. though i know what you mean about the three zones. I warped to 3~4 zones today, got my tags, just in time to draw my weapon and see everything in existance warp away xD

At this point I'm scraping out the bare minimum needed for each rank up and then avoiding Campaign again for another four days.

It's too bad. I'd love to see the server rally enough, to actually gain control of the Throne Room. I wouldn't mind one of those allied rings.

Campaign's what you make of it, I suppose. Between the server lag, and mob holders, it can be a pain in the rear. I do prefer to fight in certain zones, because there's usually plenty of carnage going on (Meriphataud and Beaucidine), and lots of waves to mess with. You gotta watch the intel like a hawk, if you're going to get the best pickings though. Example: when the whole Theomilitary decides to go on lunch break for 30 minutes, and the first dispatch notification pops up, every adventurer in windurst piles out to that zone and you have a short, and low point battle coming. I usually prefer to hold out for the next notification after it, because 80% of the fighting force just went to {insert zone here} leaving the rest of the force with lots of fighting at whatever follows.

At least this: our Rangers and Beastmasters have heard the plea of the masses, and volunteered their Widescan to the good of the battle.
