well on our 9th attempt on PM6-4 Omega Ultima fight we won!! And it don't get any closer that that! Ultima had a sliver of hp left and had killed 2 of us, it was really intense, actually the most intense fight ever in my FFX1 Career. That's right we didn't have a dream team set up, we did it with a PLD tank and not a single ranger.
After we won, we decided to go all the way right to Sea, this was mainly because our WHM Vimien is leaving in 1/2 hour from now to go to Australia and it is indifinite when he will be back online. So anyway we made the push.
The *SPOILER* fight PM7-5, was not too bad, I would elabrate on the fight but I don't wanna give too much away, needless to say our tank dropped with the Boss @ 75% and Seker the DRK stepped up to the plate while we all went balls out. Pulled it off so thats what counts!
Anyway Al'Taieu is beautiful!!! From our experience wandering around there no mobs aggro except for this really nasty huge thing in the sky and only if it is directly above you. It got me and i was like WTF JUST HAPENED WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM!!! LOLZ.... its really high up in the sky and your really gotta look out for it! Om'zhyn or something it was called. To our surprise we killed one of these jelly things and then we were killing a link....and the damn thing reraised itself!!! Well that was a wipe... but amusing nonetheless.
Anyway, Screens might be posted soon if someone who took a SS can post it.

Casty have IM'd me at about 1 am telling me that you all had finished PM 6.4, but I wasn't sure about what happened afterwards.
Now Xeres, Kylindar, Leiya, and myself have gotta catch up to ya ;)
We just need a tank...

It is not an easy path thats for sure...
Kylindar, Xeres, and the rest I am always willing to help out...And Nights man you need to "walk on water" its too cool.
We did get a couple group shots of us /waveing and stuff.
Oh, a tip for ppl attempting PM6-4. If you want to win you and your group need to invest the time into farming 4 - 6 CCB Polymers...it isnt that hard, takes a little time but easy to do.
I am soo psyched to explore Al'Taieu some more and get the map... IF anyone who has access wants to come explore lets set something up. I know my PM group will want to.

grats i was wondering this today what was farest people on bismark have gotten in cop
Definetly the proudest moment of my FFXI career. I think all 6 of us felt beaten down by Ultima (which he should! Gawd damn it's freaken Ultima Weapon). There were time where we got on each others nerves (more than once) but gawd damn i have to say i've never been more proud of the 5 that fought beside me since PM 5-2.
Right now I'm posting from the Vancouver Airport on my way to Australia for a permanent move and don't know when I'll be back on again. Our team knew this and once we Beat ultima against all odds, we decided to go throught CH.7 last night...starting at 10EST ><. We landed in sea at 2 AM....

Oh and for the record...if you attack these angel looking mobs...they 'reraise' on you ><...we found out the hard way ^^.

we have about 18+ people who are on ch 8-5 where the plot currently ends, and 33+ people with Al'taieu access in linkshell ^^.
grats on getting sea access. the bc's leading up to it are loads of fun and a few difficult ones (omega weapon ~_~ ). even if people dont care about sea/palace access (there really isnt anything to the zones besides dungean crawl missions), they should do it for the story.
I heard that only a ninja could tank him but am very impressed that you pulled it off with a paladin.

Yea, we had one guy who didn't believe we won it with a PLD. He kept saying : "with a PLD? You can't win it with a PLD".
Don't get me wrong Akir spent a load of money for this BC (probably the most out of all of us). Akir used 43 pots in the BC. That's quite a bit. Not including momento muffler, reraise gorget, blink band (god i can't remember all the stuff he bought, but after 7-8 runs his running total had topped 600-700k.)
Come prepared and communicate what your doing and you've got a good chance at this (casty and I even did a "trade" in the middle of the Ultima fight cause his sole sushi ran out and he had none left so he quickly traded the one i had in my inventory)^^. slick move

18+33 = 43????
Having Al taeiu access doesn't mean they are on 8-5, that is a few missions later, hence there's an overlap.
