This is an interesting thing that happened, but I must throw something out. Now I was a member of Aurora a few months ago and I knew Meren, Tyr, Ivy, Beth, etc. and they were all nice, good people.
But has anyone actually rolled out of the "MMORPG" state of mind and looked at what you're doing? You're actually talking about how you had someone call and talk to his parents... over an online video game item. Do you honestly think his parents care about a damn item? Yes, the item is godly, and yes, Meren did alot to get said item, but you're talking about melding the MMO world into the real world over a "fake" item.
I myself took a few months off to get my stupid *** out of the MMO state of mind, and it was probably the best thing I could have done.
Anyway, back on topic. What he did was wrong, yes, but this is a game, and that was only an item. Calling parents over the phone over such a thing is just taking it waaay too far. But it does teach you a lesson, never lend anything out to anyone you don't know / trust.
