I have noticed for the last little while, actually, right around the same time my friend Hip made a post that i defended, that i have been getting rated down like crazy. Which is fine, do what you have to do. So, here is a thread to make it easier for you. Do me a favour. If you are going to rate me down, like you did with a post i made wishing Win. the best with his newborn. Atlaest have the balls to tell me why. Dont hide like a coward and rate down for no reason. You got beef? tell me why.
Eh, it's no use, really. Karma campers won't ever come out and show themselves. That's why they're karma trolls. They hide under bridges and attack from afar. :3

It's not worrying about one's rating so much as it is wondering why. They gave specific instances where they were unjustly rated down and I agree with them in this instance.
You, however, I do not agree with. Your trolling is subpar at best. No style whatsoever.

OH WAIT! Come to think of it on my last job app. it had a field asking what your Allakhazam ffxi forum rating was! They're only hiring people with rating 3.5 and higher for 9 to 5 shift and then after work go camp Bubbling Bernie, the employee with the most steam clocks gets a free hawaiian t-shirt to wear at the company Luau on the weekends :D

If any of you know enough about computers, you can do a little investigation and its quite easy to find out whos rating you down and how often.
For those of us who have friends in the IT department, you can go that route also. Some of you would be quite surprised to see who is rating you down. Especially when they are a Sage and have recieved that title by the rate ups given by some of the same people that they are rating down daily within something like a..lets say..um..a live journal?

Journals here don't affect Karma I didn't think.
Don't worry about it really, someone rated down my thread about going to have my baby and didn't bother to say why. I'm guessing they thought it was OT but meh.

When you're a post ***** like me the odd rate down doesn't really hurt the general Karma too badly but I'm sure you could drive me back down to Scholar status if you really wanted to. Provided more people don't rate up my sticky or any other helpful posts I should happen to create :D

You know, every time someone finally snaps and demands to know who's camping them, someone rolls this out.
I'm sure you'd feel the same way if someone were camping you all to hell. I know I do, when it happens to me. Is it the end of the world? Of course it isn't, but a ratedown is a negative judgment on someone, and the only people who really don't care about negative judgments are usually deceased.

For the record I am not the one rating Mastra down. I only rate down admins as a rule, just because I can. :D

Same in my apology thread I made earlier today... people got rated down for no reason, and its stupid. If the post or thread does not concern or affect you in any way, don't rate it.
Its just discouraging when you try to do something for the community and in return get shown negative feedback in the form of rate downs. The rate down itself does not matter so much as the thought that went into it, and usually the trolls who rate people down for no reason are the ones that think "Dur, st00pid postz we dun kare =:E."
If you don't care, don't bother rating. If you do care at least think why a post honestly deserves a rate down or rate up before touching that button. The reason why some people achieve sage/guru status is because they made useful and insightful posts, and they were respected for it, but apparently, respect on these boards is lacking sorely nowadays.
I'm sure someone has said this before, but someday, everyone who actually wanted to help their fellow players will leave and stop posting because their input/etc wasn't appreciated. In the end, one of the greatest MMO websites I have ever been to will simply convert to a senesless and useless forum for pointless chat where no one will be willing to share useful info to help each other.
To the trolls, I ask, where will you turn to when you won't be able to find out how to get that new quest item or armor? Sure as hell not the Brady Guides. And, if you keep this up, you won't be able to find out here either.

I get karma camped to an extreme on these forums. Do I care? Nope. I get enough rate ups in the RNG forums so that it all balances out.

Actually over the last week or so, there has been a heavy binge of indiscriminate ratedowns by a small group of people that just recently became very active on the boards. It's kind of obvious who they are if you watch the activity closely in the threads; I'm not going to say who I believe is doing this, as they'll get caught out sooner or later, and I know it has to be more than just the one fellow who gave the petty little game away.
Pretty unimaginative way to find entertainment if you ask me, but some people just have reeeeally low standards ;)
This forum really has become almost as bad as some of the job boards or the main forum though. It's a shame, I know 99.99% of the people here are way too good for this kind of crap.

Don't need an IT dept to find it, just so happens mine did since they use my account for Alla's EQ. But who gives a ****. Nothing like seeing the -14 for an old old thank you thread, which was rated down months after the fact. And it is in an LJ. Just view all your posts and see which ones are getting rated down. For some, I guess that rating is better than Jergins.

Seriously though, normally being rated down doesn't bother me anymore, save for the post Win made about his son being on the way soon.
That's just sad. Truly fuc[b][/b]king sad that everyone in that entire thread be rated down and for what? Congratulating someone and wishing them luck and good health on one of, if not the happiest moment in their life?
There's no rhyme or reason for the rate-downs around here and as Sioux put it best:
