I remember playing that game waaaay back when and I distinctly remember getting wtfpwned like that a few times by one of my buddies. I'm convinced his quarters had haXXOrz code imbedded in them... he rigged those machines in the arcade, I know he did.

It was almost as if the crowd knew that was coming. They started reacting strongly after the first parry but there was like 8 more after and then the OMGWTFPWNED *** whooping counter that followed.
I'm more impressed that he kept his cool and finish the parry chain while the crowd was going nuts.

Am I the only one that didn't really get what the big deal was of him blocking something then killing the other character? Maybe you just have to know the game to understand >.>

The move that Daigo (ken) uses is the parry technique, a relatively new concept to SF. Basically to parry a super move from a fast character like Chun Li is utterly impossible and requires extreme precise timing. Chun Li's super move hit into two stages. The first stage you see him parry for a few hits and then pause. Most people messed up here as Chunli would pause for a bit then continue hitting you again. Daigo executed this perfectly in the heat of battle against Justin Wong, a brilliant player in his own right. That is what made it so special. Some people likened it to hitting a home run with the base loaded on the last inning.

I think that is an understatment, more like hitting a HR w/ the bases loaded in the last inning of the last game of the World Series and your team is down by 3. That was just that damn immpressive.

Yep, if you understand just a little bit about SFIII, you'll understand how OMG it is.
meh teken is beter ^^ seeing King have some in a grapple through the whole match just tearing him up hehe
lets not forget the HP of Ken right before the WTFPWN parries. he had just a sliver a life. 1 wrong move and Chunli wins.
