Lack of WHM'sFollow

#1 May 05 2005 at 11:08 AM Rating: Decent
Ever notice the absence of WHM;s lately? It's like they've all gone, especially in Kazham and garliage. How're we supposed to level now besides relying on RDM's and BLM's to heal?

I've decieded to take a break from leveling rdm/blm and level my whm for a rdm sub. Dinged to 30 last night in the Jungle, and seen other whms looking for pt while I was there. I can see why ppl avoid the Citadel like the plague tho.

Have you tried using "/sea all whm 29-31 inv" when you look for members? I live by that feature when I'm organizing a pt. Hope this helps.

We're all hideously scarred from Yhoator. We're out desperately crafting to kill the memories, and visiting psychologists to kill the screaming nightmares of what Goblin Smithies do to the Lizard Gear worn by cheerful tanks with a total of 8 defense.

(I really should just make a new account for this character XD )

Well hopefully my THF Wintskitty will get there this weekend.

Fear not Sioux, just check her gear, she'll be one of the best equipped THF's in the jungle :D I take pride in her armor actually (Good friend is letting me use her Pin and Boots).

I'm organizing a level 10 party with LS mates for Friday night (to level her sub job) and we're bucking the Dunes and will be located in either the Maze or Bubu.

After that I'll get her to 25 and we then go on a Kazham Key hunt :D

Off topic:
I plan on switching to Merc. Captain's Doublet at 30, then a Brigandine, any THF's out there want to confirm that this is the best way to go? I'll take time off to farm for the best of equip for her (farming with a thief is a blast compared to my WHM) but I don't know when my big purchases are.

I assume Brigandine +1 is expensive?

On topic:
I think it just depends on the time of day when you look for a whm. One night when I decided to try seeking on my WHM there were 4 others also LFG >.< That started me working on Wintskitty and here I am with a new character that I'm really enjoying ^^

So you have a problem partying with JP? Gee, I wonder why you have a problem finding people to fill out your party?

Isn't it fairly rude to invite someone who is listed as Japanese only? They have their preference listed that they want japanese parties only, not english ones. I'm sure people who want english parties only would feel the same way.

Mrc.Cpt. Doublet => Brigandine is indeed the way to go, unless you've got 1.1 million or so to drop on the +1. At least, it was the way I went, and it worked out quite well.

In the last few weeks, it's also been ridiculously hard to get a Teleport in Jeauno, due to the lack of WHM. Either there is a lack, or they're slacking.

I think it's because teleport prices are the only things that haven't gone up with inflation. Not that I am condoning it.

I usually make an effort to grab people who I've noticed were shouting for awhile.

I've given free sympathy ports to people who cant seem to get a break.
Wasn't like this when I first hit 36 and tried my hand at tele-taxi

Hehe, the best thing for me about being a whm...

Is that there is ALWAYS a white mage in my parties^.~

Being said, I actually have noticed a lack of tanks recently.

More than once, a party has broken due to there not being any tanks lfg.

I think there at the higher levels (post 20, 30, 40, 50) that there are less people looking for group, and thus, there are less possible "ideal" parties that could be formed.

Personally, at my level...

I think there are maybe seven or eight other white mages who exp reguarly. We all wind up filling in for each other at parties, and very rarely do others show up.

And off peak hours, there are even less. I typically, because of my college, get to play at both JPN and NA peak times. But when I play off hours, I am usually the ONLY whm my level lfg.

What does all mean?

It means what people have been saying for a while now.

That as your level gets higher, there are fewer and fewer people exping jobs. Add to the fact that post the subjob range, 37, there are fewer people willing to take "certain" key jobs to 75.

WHM, BLM, SMN, NIN, and WAR are all examples of this. BLM, WHM, and SMN are all subjobs for RDM, BRD, and each other. WAR and NIN are subs for PLD, RNG, NIN, WAR, DRK, and what-have-you.

That all no doubt plays a role in all this too.

Then again, it is all from your perspective. Like I have said, I never notice a "lack" of whm like some do, but instead I notice a "lack" of tanks.

But then again, that could just be me.
