Danger at the Hakutaku >Follow

So this weekend [link=www.intensityls.ipbhost.com]Intensity LS[/link] went to fight Hakutaku. On our 2nd or 3rd fight, I got a tell from someone asking me if the Redapples and Forlove had really MPKed us at Hakutaku and stole the mob. This hadn't happened, and if the rumors were true, I really feel sorry for whatever LS had this happen to them.

Well, it was my turn to spawn the Hakutaku when all of a sudden I see;

Redappleee pokes Leeluu.

And next thing I know about 6 of the most notorious gil sellers are there. Not wanting to chance losing my cluster, I waited to see what they were up to. They were NOT farming eyes, they were just sitting there waiting for me to spawn Hakutaku. One of them even has an Optical Hat!

I called a GM to see if he would watch the fight to make sure those ass-shats wouldn't try anything, but after waiting for almost an hour with no response, we just warped out.

So my warning to anyone going to attempt Hakutaku in the near future, watch out, whether they manage to claim Hakutaku from you or not, you still lose all the work that goes into aquiring a Hakutaku cluster.

Ok...similar experience from our LS FinalLegends' run with eye.
Everything went fine on our 4th eye run when these gilsellers show up
Lickey
Chiraranula (sp?)
Overaa
Jelly
Redapple[ ]

Since we were already fighting...they just stand right in middle of fight and just watch us...the NM is almost dead when all of a sudden our NIN tank, DRK/nin, and 1 or 2 more ppl D/C...before we get a chance to recover...we wipe...>.> they get eye and they also die...

So..the point is...I do not know if you can cause someone else to D/C or even Lag enough that you get R:0...just do not do a hat run when you see them around please...because they will steal the mob if you lose claim.

I would have been more pissed off if they ended up killing the NM after we wiped >.<

Already pissed off at the possibility that they could have caused us to lag by spam checking us and doing things right in middle of fight...

Senchu, that was the same group that showed up while we were getting ready to spawn it. It's great when you're about to get into a massive battle, and you see this come up in say:

Overaa: MPK {Can I have it?}
LS>> WTF??
Overaa: MPK {Can I have it?}
Overaa: MPK {Can I have it?}
Overaa: MPK {Can I have it?}

Thats just pretty messed up.

Im not high enough to do the haku runs yet maybe oneday. I hope the gil farmers lose interest by the time i start doing it.

I'm sure it is possible to cause other people to lag out and DC. I remember in PSO, people had the ability to cause the dreaded Frozen Screen of Death to happen to people, causing you to lose all your items that weren't in storage or equipped thanks to a genius move by Sega. -_- I wouldn't be surprised if there's a similar method to do it here.

These groups have many more toys than most of us are aware of, I'm certain of it. They're good, unfortunately. And really the only one who can take care of them is SE, and they're just not willing to do so. They say they banned 500 accounts, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were just coincidental. All we got was an extremely vague explanation of what they did. We don't know if it's gil sellers they banned or just 500 random people who happened to have caused grief crimes. Is it so uncommon for people to commit those crimes? I'm sure you all can think of 3 people right off the bat.

I guess basically it's time SE stops ignoring the problem and hopes it goes away. They already have more server issues than they obviously can handle, it's not wise for them to let *this* go too. Because even I may become a statistic and quit because of their incompetence.

In Helbreath, the GMs had a command to force the target to logout (I.E. Instant connection lost), so maybe there's one in FFXI someone discovered and hacked, or maybe (IMO) this is just a coïncidence.
