Dear SE:
Why the hell cant I log on? Over 500k people pay you $12+ a month, and yet you cannot figure out how the hell to stop congestion. THe update ended yesterday at 1, yet, I still am unable to log even though I finished with all the update **** (most of which I feel could ruin the game). In short, let me the **** on the game.

I been runnin on 24 hours.. wait 25 hours now downloading this update.. course my version of FFXI is from WAYYY back in the day.. a month after it first came out.. that plus the crap bandwidth im getting.. oh well gets to run overnight now I suppose

just a little FYI.

i was constantly hitting the retry button for about 7 hours last night.. and getting nowhere.. Then i just completly logged out of POL, waited a few minutes.. then shut down all applications.. and Rebooted POL, and for some reason..

Bam! i hit a really good little connection, and got the update downloaded in about 25 mins...

So some of you try that.. maybe it was just coincidence or something, but thats what happend with me.

I had RL friends tell me to not even bother the day of the update so I waited until yesterday to do it. All together, it took me 9 hours since I'm forced to use crappy dial-up.

I was just wondering, I hear so many people say they got most of the patch downloaded but they d/c and have to start over. Could updates this size be made into a few parts, and when you download they are waiting in line, so when/if you d/c, you can start from 2/3rd finished?

Just a thought...
