Fenrir question:Follow

good luck with primes ura, if anyone deserves fenrir now it's you. i'm working on fame, but in a half assed way while lvling. >.< i should commit.

From what I've gleaned from others (some JP friends that speak a bit of English) SMN was originally meant to be the job people take up after they have a job at level 75. That way they could have every avatar at level 1 and parties wouldn't have to ask them if they had so-and-so avatar.

Fenrir was no exception. Even now I've barely seen and JP SMN without Fenrir, barring those that started after the NA release.

I'm in no way saying that SMN is gimped or anything before you obtain Fenrir; just that before the introduction of the solo battles, it was a job taken up after 75. Then on the NA release people were frustrated they couldn't get the avatars nownownow, and SE panicked and made the solo battles.

Anyway, I'd agree with Alauce--Fenrir ain't that grand. I'd much rather see a SMN that knew what he/she was doing than someone who paid for Fenrir/leeched him off of some high levels.

Well don't feel bad about having a hard time setting up a fenrir party. Most ppl are scared of fighting that wolf esp with people under 70. Tanks are scared of losing and howling moon and dispelga. It took me really about 8 weeks to finally get a few ppl to get together and say lets go and show this puppy who is his master lol. So don't get discouraged. You also gotta remember that lots of ppl don't have the moon bauble so that is also a pain at times.

As for my return to bismark. I think another week before i actually come back and level and farm like crazy for some items i really really want. hopefully inflation hasn't gone up anymroe than when i left 2wks ago.

We did it last night with a NIN, BRD, SMN, WHM, DRK and me.

We won. YES! HOORAY!

Me (Gimp/Leech/Etc, although they say I did quite a bit to ensure victory...)

Toucan is unparalleled in solo tanking Fenrir((With Leviathan for his hate spikes every 60 seconds... heh)), and not dying. He held hate through Howling Moon AND through a Benediction. For this, I thank him!

Xylophone was spamming Goddess Hymnus and Dark Carol with the best of 'em, and was one of the reasons after Fenrirs 2hr, we all survived in double digits... lol For this, I thank him. Dark Carol truly is a magnificant thing. T_T

Alexia was spamming Spinning Dive as fast as it could be spammed, and even predicted Howling Moon to the letter most of the time to give us a heads up, and to get me out of range. Fenrirs HP was dropping very noticeably to Leviathan. For this, I thank her!

Yaibal was Hasting Tsuyo, curing him, erasing him, everything to be expected from a WHM. She even took an EXP hit from a raise 1 to ensure the rest of the PT got a Raise 3. But Alexia took a Home Point spawn hit to get back to Full Moon Fountain in time to ensure nobody not in a static PT would go hurt too bad. These two are truly an awesome pair to have in a party. For this, I thank her!

Raichu was doing what he was supposed to: Doing Damage. He even got hate a couple times doing it... Kinda makes me skeptical to ever go back to Fenrir one way with a DRK... if you want dmg, get a drk. Keep them healed though. <_<; Raichu was entertaining from the moment he was in the PT, even after de-leveling. I hope you get your level back! You deserve it. /salute. For this, I thank you.

I was just standing around picking my nose most of the fight... I honestly have no idea how I got to around 200 MP at the end of the fight where we won. I don't know how it happened... haha, but w/e I was doing, my PT was pleased with it. Somehow. For this, I thank myself. ^^;

This has truly made my day, nay. Truly this has made my entire year worth playing. Thank you so very much! No more being kicked in favor of RDMs now... no more being kicked for not having the versatility of a BRD now... No more being kicked at all! Yay! I am so going to get my Evokers Horn now! Thank you so very very VERY much! ;-;
