He said HNM hasn't existed for 3 years yet. If the game is not even 3 years old and that the level cap to 75 didn't even break until the release of Rise of the Zilart in Japan (approx 1 years later.) So yea, about the only thing he can fight for the first 1 years is probably steelfleece. I highly doubt anyone could've had an HNM LS for 3 years. Even if its true, what's the point? as I've stated before, how you acquired an item is irrelevant. Unless you steal the said items, you should be proud of it nonetheless. And please don't tell me the strategies involved in taking down Jorm and Tiamat takes less effort than your repetitive jump >> poke >> pentastrike on a goobue ok?

I'm well aware of that.

So, what are you saying ? That if level cap is raised to 90, people who partake in those level 90 HNM shells shouldn't consider current level 75 shells as real HNM shells ?

That because they will be able to duo some HNMs that are now pretty rough for an alliance, they would be justified to pretend like those weren't HNMs at any point in time ?

That what you guys are doing now is pointless, since it won't always be the hardest stuff around ?

...does that make your achievements any less, to know that someday, they might not be as challenging ?

It really makes no difference anymore because in the end, we're trying to dispute the words of someone who have left the game. And most of me and my friends (though we have might've not known him personally) saw his leveling progress as a level 50 dragoon when we were pushing 70s. Again coming back and trying to create this mystique for your self (I have another character with 2 jobs @ 75, I ran HNM LS for 3 years etc.) seemed a little bit far-fetched. Especially when he tries to use it to provide any proof of legitimacy to his argument. But yeah, so in the end its totally irrelavent to the fact that people have different ways to obtain item and none is better than the other. This has been an extreme form of thread hijack, I hope you enjoyed the ride, now back to your regularly schedule topic.

I don't know about that. I don't know that person. I wasn't debating if he did or did not lead an HNM shell, simply the possibility for it to happen.
I was only telling the guy who said that there weren't any HNM shells in existence about 3 years ago that I thought it was very possible.

Let me try to breakdown this post into small fragments similar to what most of you have been doing anyway.

I was stationed in Japan three years ago.

I bought FFXI on japanese release. I enjoyed the first 10 games.

Steelfleece and Bloodtear along with Behemoth and Fafnir were the hardest monsters in pre-zilart. KB, and Nidhogg were added with Zilart.

My american release account was created to play with a friend.

I recently left the US Military.

The LS that I still run with my other account is considered an HNMLS. And, On the same terms 3 years ago, Fighting Steelfleece, and Bloodtear it was an HNMLS.

Now, I hope that's all cleared up with you.

I don't remember ever saying because I had the item before Draken means my item is cooler. I do, however, remember Bowser suggesting over and over that Draken had the item before I did. I was pointing out to him that he was wrong.

And, Bowser, When you and your friends were pushing into 70. I wasn't playing Zariko, at the time. Just pointing that out to you.

I've also noticed how each of you have avoided the questions I've asked you that would without a doubt prove my point on how much harder it is to make the money for a said item be it with crafting/farming. Each of those take more time than walking out to where you KNOW the NM/HNM will be spawning, or is spawned, and killing it then getting the item drop. Hence, It's harder.

And, Bowser, I never said it took less, or more. They're the same. Repetition.

Anyway, I'm done with this thread.

I played import and beta, yes I was there when 40 level 65s would try to kill Fafnir, LS structure is different now than when it use to, Jeeb and Jerith had long term plans when they created the Lunarians based off their knowledge from playing on inport from Titan, but truely HNM LSs were being formed up when the game launched, that was just my point, saying you have a charactor acount from import that reached 75 on 2 jobs is one thing, when your sig has level 70 DRG retired.

Also, about the way Ayrilana answered me ... In others words, you said "Shut up, newbz, you're not worth the speech, go back to Valkurm Dunes and let the good players control the world" ... And that's exactly what disgust me with the Lv75 people.

Needed a quote to tie in to what happened to me Saturday and found this one to be the closest. You want a good example of why high levels don't help often?

I was running to the Kazham zone from Yuhtunga when I saw a goblin running towards a party so I provoked it off and killed it but was too late for one of their memebers. I raised that memeber and during the process of raising I got a /tell for a PL. This is how it went:

Haroun>> hey you wanna PL my party?
Haroun>> please
me>> can't
Haroun>> **ck you then
me>> rofl
me>> called a GM on you
Haroun>> shut up *ussy
Haroun>> keep talking your the fourth person threatened me with that bullsh**
Haroun>> nothing happens f**got

Usually if you say you called a GM people tend to be apologetic which is all that I really wanted. The second he got all offensive and rude, I called a GM on him for real. The GM did their usual speal of asking what happened and such and saying that they'd look into it. After I was done talking with the GM, Haroun wasn't online.

This is knd of a cross between a player to look out for and an example of what some of us go through. This isn't the first time that this has happened to me but this is the first time that I did something about it since I don't feel like having to /blist everyone to make the problem go away.

Yeah, well. I solo'd Vrtra as a WHM/NIN. Took 7 days and he gave me 50 provoke helms. But that was 3 years ago on the beta server in Japanese and I didn't even speak Japanese.

Man, those were the days. I was the first on the server to have a Behemoth's Osode.

As for Zariko's 3 year HNM LS stint. I think if you had played while he was on you'd sort of question his claims. He never showed much leadership potential and was probably blisted by a larger portion of the server as he found annoying people more fun than playing. Plus, he was a DRG. Who would follow a DRG into battle? Justification of his so-called other account would be in order but details seem lacking so it's somewhat in question.

Anyway:

The fun of end game is the competition (also known as Drama). You stand around in Jeuno instead of logging off when you aren't doing anything because you want to show what you and your shell have accomplished. I remember when Aurora finished Divine Might and everyone was wearing their suppanomimi or bushonomimi or what nots; it's a great feeling doing something with friends and actually winning. So much in this game is beyond difficult, it's almost an honor to have those pieces of armor that no one else can get.

If you got it because you walked up to a ??? and went into an instance or Burning Circle, would anyone care if you won? Or would you care if you claimed something like Fafnir, beat off a train of spiders and lag from all the other people there and managed to get a ridill? Once you reach 75 all you really have to look forward to is getting that hard to get stuff so you can show off. It's nothing about being leet or uber because everyone can get the item's you have, it just takes a while so why not enjoy that fleeting moment of uberdom with a jig and a smile?

I guess that's just a few musings from a n00b into the world of HNM's.

Wow Foodle, you must've had Gobbybag XVII done to hold all those Shihei, or did you craft them while fighting?

And I'm not even going to start on Zariko's supposed other char who lead a HNM LS for 3 years. >_>

psh, Gobbybag XVII I had that almost 3 years ago, i'm on Gobbybag XXIX, I bet he did craft them in front of him though because with FlashII he'd miss so much he'd have time to craft 2 stacks.

Sorry, I just thought it was all too serious, I had to throw something stupid in here to lighten the mood.
