I just spent 2 weeks farming for a Dark staff.
Soon i'll have to farm 800k??! OUCH! That will take forever. I wish i liked trying to beat 10 other people for 1 pop, that doesn't guarentee a drop. Sorry, just venting. I need to find a way to make some cash. I could grow cuttings or whatever. Meh. I could of sworn Gluttony was only 400k a few weeks ago.

its a forced pop (albeit a complicated one) so you really camp for it.
I think it's kind of like this (not exact):
Theres 7 unlit candles or something throughout Eldieme Necropolis (sp?). You need to get an alliance to scatter throughout Eldieme Necropolis to these candles, and everyone at the same time needs to trade 1 Flint Stone to a candle, and 1 Skull of ??? will spawn randomly at 1 of the candles. The one that drops Gluttony Sword is the Skull of Gluttony. I'm not sure which levels these NMs are, but i've heard the drop is about 1/3.
Sounds tough to do with out a lot of friends, or a high level LS, but sounds fun nontheless hehe. You can also make some nice gil from the other weapons that the other skulls drop.

Sweet. Thanks for that info. I'm gonna have to find a high lvl LS to join, seeing as the one i was on, just [disband?] Gopefully i can find people that dont want the sword to sell T_T
Usually the plan is that a level 67 ish melee can solo, anyone lower than that stick a mage with them. The way my old LS does it is 7 melees camp 7 spots, pop the bones and solo or duo them and what ever drop off your bones you get. In theory each bone drop an item that sell for decent gil (pride staff, lust dagger greed scimitar etc) As for the Gluttoney sword, that NM is a bit harder so we have the popper basically sneak pop it and pray it doesn't depop before back up arrives.

i did it 4 times, glut only dropped once, got like 2 greed scimitars. there is torch on glacier side, so a whm needs to port someone there, thats the longest part.
first time we did it, it took like an hour and half to find all the right mounds to get to the torches. after that it only took about 30 min to setup.
as a 75rdm/thf i once killed the glut skull before he got through my stoneskin =p.

yes its a sad state of affairs, when i started my farming for my gluttony at 56, it was only 300k by the time i hit 57, it was up to 650k now 800k, given i stand to make a small profit from its use, but still wtf. if you want to set something up to kill the skeles let me know, i am a 61 pld and prolly will need a mage but i'll help.
me and illfearing and dealtaru and foresta and a few others did this about 3 hrs ago. theres 7 tallow candles. you send out 7 ppl who can solo one of these nms to each of these candles.
you have to trade all 7 at the same time. when you do trade, each nm of that candle will appear. in just a second, you have 7 people fighting 7 different nms. the drop rate for the swds isnt great or anything, but if you kill all 7 nms, you should get at least 1 item from one of the nms.
the skull of gluttony nm is a tad bit tougher than the others. 2 lvl 60 melees and a healer should be able to kill any of the nms. if you are going to have people soloing a nm apeice, they better be 71+ with a nin subbed.Theres a couple of the nms who seem to have the thf ability to tripple attack. A 3 fold attack from a dagger isnt nice, but from a swd or polearm, you get latent quick. im not saying they cant be killed without a nin sub, but it reall makes it alot easier
theres only 5 nms of the 7 that you should bother with killing.
skull of gluttony.. drops gluttony swd, value is around 800k
skull of pride... drops pride staff, value is around 200k
skull of lust.. drops lust dagger, value is around 120k
skull of greed... drops greed scimitar, value is around 250k
skull of wrath.. drops wrath tabar, value is around 200k
once again, you must trade all stones to candles at the same time, and all 7 nm pop.
if you are lvl 55 and looking for a cheap way to get the swd, or you like to quest for items, this swd will be very hard for you and an alliance of 55-60s to get.
these candles are in areas where youll take aggro and wont make it to zone.
my rough guess is that the nms are as posted at lvl 60, and have around 3k-4k hp
