Was trying to self sell some of the new thf JSE gloves for 4mil but I crashed to desktop right after I listed them. I relogged and saw he bought them for 400k..... I guess I missed a 0 but they cost me over 3mil to make. I tried to contact him in game but it was 4am est.. He bought and logged off with in the 1 minute it took me to relog. Please if anyone know's him ask him to contact me or contact me if you know him. I just want my gloves back. :\ I don't ask much if anything from the ffxi community, but please help me.

You know that he is in no way obliged to undo the sale, right?

I think that you are going to be down 3.6mil. I'm sorry to say that, but I dont think that he is going to give you the rest of your money, You could try contacting a GM and say that it was an unjust trade, but they could say that you were just trying to undecut, Its worth a try though

I'm so srry to hear about that Fira =/
It happens so often that i doubt you'll be able to do anything about it. Just awhile ago my friend was tradeing 3mill for a ring to some taru. The ring "looked the same" but after he had gotten it he realized it was some cheap 9k ring =/ Just be careful when you buy or sell stuff hun- its heart breaking what can happen~ xoxo

Pariis: trading a look-a-like is an offense, GMs have taken actions against people like that.

apachemonk: there is no such thing as an unjust trade through the auction house. Even if it was a genuine accident, it's solely to blame on the one putting it up. It would be nice if the buyer gives the item back or pays (some of) the gil, but nothing can be done to enforce it.

They *could* say Fira was trying to undercut but as his gloves were the first ones ever listed on AH I somehow doubt that excuse will hold any water.

There's no such thing as undercutting, only fair pricing :)

Besides, how would you describe this to a GM?
GM-"This is GM *******. You had a complaint about a sale?"
You-"I put an item on AH far too cheap, it sold, and now I want it back."
GM-"I'm sorry for your loss, but all sales are final, and do not come with batteries. Was there anything else?"

No such thing as undercutting?
Back in the day, when Hoo Mjuu claims took tapping enter 49579843754 times, I got many signas. I put them on sale, and what do you know, the price drops. I have seen many prices go from:
400k
399k
395k
350k
375k
360k
300k
299k
330k
330k

Then it evens itself out and leaves some of us to wait another couple weeks for the n00bs to wait their turn and wait 2 days for their stuff to sell.

Undercutting = bad

Bad for your wallet, but good for the buyer's wallet. It also keeps gilsellers away. Gilsellers are bad, m'kay? Are you a gilseller? (don't answer that question...please)

If you want to start a discussion on 'fair pricing'/'undercutting', be my guest. Not in here though, we're already out of thread topic :)
