Well, I have to say, I'm one happy fella. We went in yesterday and schooled that badass dog. After 3 hours of shouting in Jueno, we ended up with an amazing party setup. The party consisted of:

Me (63 WHM)
Alenhart (71 RNG)
Alexes (71 SMN)
Hvac (75 BLM)
Beatdown (74 PLD)
Jeminii (75 WAR)

Alen and I we're both the ones who started out shouting as we both needed Fenrir and very shortly after we started Alexes decided to join us. About an hour later Hvac, who also needed Fenrir joined us and eventually Beatdown and Jeminii finished off our party. Now i have to say it right now, I give FULL credit to Beatdown. This was his fight. He had the perfect strategy for fighting this dog and he did an AMAZING job fighting him.

We got down to Full moon mountain, Beatdown ran thru the strategy, and we entered. Well, our War had decided to do rampage/uber weapon skill right off the bat which Fenrir didn't like and ended up killing him pretty much instantly with a few crit hits. The minute the war went down, Beatdown started to yell ZONE ZONE ZONE..so the rest of us zoned while Beatdown took the death and we we're kicked out of the fight. Anyway, after raises, we enter again, this time things go wonderfully. Jeminii and Beatdown traded hate back and forth (Beatdown was subbing NIN) and never got hit once. we get him down to 1/2 health and of course we all get ready for Fenrir's 2hr. BAM...we all take it like men (and women :P Alexes :)) but it brings us all down to danger Red HP. So the plan at that point was beatdown 2hr invincible and I DS+ curaga 3. Went off without a hitch. Everyone back to full health..except Fenrir didn't particularily like that and immediately did me in with a few bites for 500+ damamge each. But it was too late for him. It true what the boards say...survive Fenrir's 2 hr and you survive the fight. A few excellent WS from our Ranger and SMN beating down on him and Fenrir Curled up like the little puppy he is. :). Certainly an intense fight...

I think the key here, as Beatdown explained, is to have a PLD/NIN and a WAR/NIN (74+) who can bounce hate around. The rest of the melee should have /NIN, as our Ranger did. He is by no means to be underestimated but with this combo, if something goes wrong, its good to have a backup tank. Being calm is another thing you need to be for this fight. Beatdown did a great job of keeping calm when Jeminii went down quickly on the first round and knew we had to exit and come back in.

So to Beatdown, Jeminii and Alexes who did this to help out (All had done it several times) and to Alenhart and Hvac who did great jobs as well, thank you for a great exciting fight.
Looks like i'm taking summoner back up again :).

Grats Vimien!
Fenrir fight is the hard one yeah, I beat that puppy at my fifth fight.

I think the best is whm/smn for mp regen + some ethers that was my strategy.

I rate up Beatdown for his excelency (remove him from bad player list lol)
I partied once with beatdown, he's nice, the only slacking thing for him was only: he fell asleep while we were taking a break lol, but there was no problem at all.
Good job for beatdown strategy, and excelency pt on fenrir, thumbs up for you all.

You know what tho...they did such a great job with their tanking, I never thru out a cure once (correction, i did cure our ranger one time since he took a hit when he came back from pulling Fenrir). the /smn wouldn't make a huge difference imo. Haste and that critical DS+curaga after his 2hr was the only reason for me to be there. Otherwise I sat back and enjoyed the nice show they we're putting on (even more so when i ate dirt :))

And yes, Beatdown was very nice and helpful, he's a great example of forming your own opinions of someone after you meet them and not from reading threads.

IMHO /smn is safer choice cuz fenrir will act randomly in the battle. Sometimes he can spam dispelga, sometimes he does dispelga once in a while, so if you have regen drink and all buffs plus reraise spell it will gone (but not food effect).

And for curaga 3 + DS is good when you have pld/nin tanker back there was in my battle i have nin/war and nin/war, drk/nin, so for me using Curaga 3+DS = Absolutely death, but I used Benediction, i didnt even got hate at all. So yeah the strategy is tailorized due to situation.

Good luck for other ppl who wants to fight fenrir, i wish this could help you in battle.
