Well, I have to say, I'm one happy fella. We went in yesterday and schooled that badass dog. After 3 hours of shouting in Jueno, we ended up with an amazing party setup. The party consisted of:
Me (63 WHM)
Alenhart (71 RNG)
Alexes (71 SMN)
Hvac (75 BLM)
Beatdown (74 PLD)
Jeminii (75 WAR)
Alen and I we're both the ones who started out shouting as we both needed Fenrir and very shortly after we started Alexes decided to join us. About an hour later Hvac, who also needed Fenrir joined us and eventually Beatdown and Jeminii finished off our party. Now i have to say it right now, I give FULL credit to Beatdown. This was his fight. He had the perfect strategy for fighting this dog and he did an AMAZING job fighting him.
We got down to Full moon mountain, Beatdown ran thru the strategy, and we entered. Well, our War had decided to do rampage/uber weapon skill right off the bat which Fenrir didn't like and ended up killing him pretty much instantly with a few crit hits. The minute the war went down, Beatdown started to yell ZONE ZONE ZONE..so the rest of us zoned while Beatdown took the death and we we're kicked out of the fight. Anyway, after raises, we enter again, this time things go wonderfully. Jeminii and Beatdown traded hate back and forth (Beatdown was subbing NIN) and never got hit once. we get him down to 1/2 health and of course we all get ready for Fenrir's 2hr. BAM...we all take it like men (and women :P Alexes :)) but it brings us all down to danger Red HP. So the plan at that point was beatdown 2hr invincible and I DS+ curaga 3. Went off without a hitch. Everyone back to full health..except Fenrir didn't particularily like that and immediately did me in with a few bites for 500+ damamge each. But it was too late for him. It true what the boards say...survive Fenrir's 2 hr and you survive the fight. A few excellent WS from our Ranger and SMN beating down on him and Fenrir Curled up like the little puppy he is. :). Certainly an intense fight...
I think the key here, as Beatdown explained, is to have a PLD/NIN and a WAR/NIN (74+) who can bounce hate around. The rest of the melee should have /NIN, as our Ranger did. He is by no means to be underestimated but with this combo, if something goes wrong, its good to have a backup tank. Being calm is another thing you need to be for this fight. Beatdown did a great job of keeping calm when Jeminii went down quickly on the first round and knew we had to exit and come back in.
So to Beatdown, Jeminii and Alexes who did this to help out (All had done it several times) and to Alenhart and Hvac who did great jobs as well, thank you for a great exciting fight.
Looks like i'm taking summoner back up again :).
