OK, first off people, no flaming, no dissing, no bad attitudes.

Right, I just read something in the RDM forum that made me remember a couple parties I had way back when. In these parties the party leader and MAIN tank (yes you read correctly) was a Galka RDM/WAR. I remember him doing a great job of keeping hate and building two good parties that stuck together. XP was great, very little if any downtime, and two fun sessions that he deserves all the credit for.

So I wanna hear if you have come across somebody (maybe yourself) that has tried a Job/Sub combo that's outside the norm and proved the naysayers wrong by doing a great job.

If someone did a bad job, don't wanna hear it, save that for the Flame thread, let's keep this positive. :)

For me, it was WAR/WHM when I was still noobie in this game. When I was playing with my brother's character, I was in a pt with MNK/DRG and he was JP too.

NIN/RNG from 25-27. I used a gun and spammed bullets as fast as I could after debuffing for the PLD. I plan on doing this from 30-37, so look for me in Kazham sometime.

It's an odd combo in that I never see it. I just chose it because I refuse to buy rediculously overpriced gear (hairpin) and I suck at camping NMs even with my Loxley Bow and I refuse to level NIN as a tank without the best gear.

Theo ^^ Ask Blades what I was in the Dunes. *grins* I was the exact same thing because I don't trust myself to be a blink tank to others and refuse to touch warrior >.>

I dunno, it's just not one of the jobs I ever see myself playing ^^; It's my lowest job lvl, and even then, I had only used it to get Drk >.>

Theo's just the kind of guy who would prefer to spend the money to spam bullets rather than buying the items to be a ninja tank. Don't ever change, Theo, you rock. lol

I'd love to level my ninja as a NIN/RDM and be a debuffing master, but I just don't think I'd get the party invites. But if anyone would like to see how that works, send me a tell.

WHM/BRD.

While a lot of people see it as a weak combo, I find that in reality, as long as I don't try to buff the mob, its really quite powerful. There is nothing like being able to sing Madrigal, and all the sudden the pld tank is hitting those bats more than 1/5 attempts.

I also find it amusing for the rdm to ask the whm for refresh (ballad) too.

The etudes are really nice, and helps me and the blm land buffs on the mob with fewer resistances.

My mp does take a hit, I admit, so I have to have gear that counteracts that.

And the people in my pt can only get one song at a time >.<

But other than that...I am personally really happy with it.

You'd get Mage's Ballad at 50, right? You had a RDM begging ballad off you at 50?
