Okay, so I'm a newbie... and everyone who's PT'ed with me on this forum should know that. >_>; You'd also be aware of the fact that I'm running a little low on gil, thanks to my chain mail and chain hose. So, I've decided to pick a craft that will rise me up with to fortune and because of the fact that all my crafting skills are level 0. Now I've heard many great things about wood working. I even tried out a few days ago by synthing arrow wood lumber. It was pretty easy. Getting supplies was pretty easy too, all I did was take two hatchets with me to Ghelsba. In no time at all, I had an assload of Maple logs and Arrow wood logs(No elm logs T__T). Is there anything I can synthesize besides Arrow wood lumber? Anything that'll bring up my skill 0.2 or 0.3 instead of a crappy 0.1 everytime? -_-'

You can definitely make a profit on woodworking. LS buddy of mine took woodworking to 73 just so he could fix his Lu Shang's. Took him a while, but he did it faster then I did, and spent less money. I'm at level 58.3 in blacksmithing, and I've spent 6 months on and off doing it, spending close to 2mil on it. (Darksteel ores and ingots are hideous on the pocketbook. But I did make about half of it back.) My ls buddy did woodworking in under a month and a half, and broke even on most, if not all, of it. Send me a /tell in game if ya want to ask him advice. Also, check the tradeskill forums link (on the left) for advice.

If its money your looking for go with alchamy silent oil rakes in gil hand over fist and all the materials are free if you farm/fish them.

Well i decided to do woodworking with a mule since i can only have 1 craft at 100 and i would pick it over and over again.

To be exact i sent 1 Wind Cluster and 3k, that got me from 0-30. I was able to send back 40k~ from the skill ups alone. I can't find the Link anymore but if you use Raveclaw's Woodworking Guide while selling the stuff instead of hording it for skill up supplies, you will be making gil almost non-stop.
Basically all i did was i would camp the Guild Shop and buy all my supplies. Later on I AHed them and was still making profits, just not as much.
