/em is at work and would be bored right now anyway.

But seriously, woot! I wasn't even paying attention to the fact that today is the 23rd and the update is today. I'm psyched to get home. That'll be 2 hours after the servers come back on so hopefully I won't have too much trouble downloading the update. We'll see, though... <.<

I'm looking forward to the WHM tweaks and am looking to dust off my fishing rods again :)

I'm hoping I'm high enough for the new WHM trait but I have a feeling I'm not >.<

You don't think so?

Here's my take on it. Right now, RDM/WHM and SMN/WHM can generally heal just as well as a WHM/BLM or WHM/SMN (Raises aside), which stinks for WHMs. In recent updates, they've made changes to SMN to allow them to deal more damage and distinguish themselves...to allow them to serve a purpose other than "WHM Lite".

They haven't changed RDM to deter them from main healing, but I don't know that they could. Bumping up our abilities like they did with SMN would overpower us. Taking something away from us would p*ss off their customers. All they can do is prevent RDM/WHM from taking advantage of the trait.

I say the trait will be somewhere between 38 and 50. I think you'll be plenty high enough to take advantage of it. ^_^

It stinks just as much if not more for us SMNs who main heal a lot >.>

To be fair, SMNs can serve other purposes in a party aside from main healing. The same cannot be said of WHMs.

Awias...Maybe you can help me.

My SMN is level 30 and when I level it I'm usually the main healer. If the party has a WHM, what do you do? Do your actions all revolve around the Blood Pact? Do you leave your avatar out to melee? I need pointers how to level:)

Sorry to drag this thread OT, if you wanna PM me that would be fine :)

I remember when I had to fish for a week to get my Jujitsu Gi. Back then it was just hitting enter and of course boring as heck. Fishing will definately be one of the first things I do when I log back on. That and switch back to SAM and see what the new job trait for them is.

Luckily the anticipation won't be too bad for me since I have class for the entire length of the update and i'll be asleep because my classes are so boring...

Having no experience in actually playing a SMN in a party and judging only by the SMNs with whom I have partied, it seems the role of a SMN in a party with a WHM main healer would be to keep the party buffed through BPs, backup heal, and SC or MB with avatars.

Can yes, but not as often as I'd prefer. We offer much more than Earthen Ward or Ecliptic Growl and such. Plus I know some WHMs that sub SMN for Aerial Armor (and maybe Shining Ruby.)

Bah, but this isn't the place to argue bout it anywho. That's what all the "SMN as main heal?" threads are for in SMN forums >.<
