So, I'm 25war/12 mnk with a Chocobo now, and I'm totally new to this whole farming thing. Anyone care to explain where I can get a signet in valkurm now that it is under Bastok control? I've also been thinking, would it be wise to use my level 4 rdm to farm low level orcs, and forest hares for crystals?

Please help, I really need to find out a way to make gil. It makes me feel ashamed whenever I pt with people who have a full set of chain mail armor, courage rings, and etc. I'm sick of not being able to afford anything...x_X;

Talk to the Iron Muskateer at the enterance to the Dunes from Konschat, or at the outpost.

Oh, wait, you're from San Doria? Sorry. You're outta luck till next week when Sandy takes it back and Bastok drops back down to third. (Yes, I'm a bastokian, I can unashamedly admit this because I know this will happen.)

If ya go mining, you could turn a profit there. Learn to blacksmith and you could turn a bigger profit.

the best thing to do is kill mobs that are way lower lvl than you and sell the stacks of thier drops. Farming the lizzards for tails and skins was always easy gil.

Farm bats for beastmens bloods.. or fiends blood one of the 2.

in a couple more lvls, like 27 or so, start farming the wind elementals in la'thine plat.

i built my empire of junk from the sells of those clusters they drop.

and last... dont drop those stupid beastmen's seals... youll want them bad later on.

When it comes to Final Fantasy XI, the old adage holds the most true: Time is Money! In this game ther is no easy way to make money, and no way to do it fast. The best thing you can do is use your low level jobs to kill crap right outside the zones of your hometown. You can make a shocking amount of money this way. My LS mate is only a level 22 mnk, and he's got 250k on him right now, and all the gear that he wants/needs for his level. Stacks of crystals are still the most attainable.

Don't bother too much with gathering crap out of the zones. Logging, mining, harvesting, and all those can yield a profit, but at your level you shouldn't waste time with it. I remember spending hours upon hours doing those, and it only gets you so far before you wanna shoot your computer out of boredom. They're a nice break when you're higher up and don't feel like pt'ing, but you aren't going to be able to get to the really good spots for awhile.

You might also want to look into Gardening. It doesn't require much out of you except to check the pots once a day or so, and you can yield some really good results if you do your homework beforehand.

My last suggestion would be to level thief. There's some badass stuff you can steal when you get higher level, not to mention Treasure Hunter atribute. A thf can go nuts in Jugner Forest, and never really get tired of it.

Oh yeah, and don't throw away those f'ing beastman seals. I'd have over 300 by now if I hadn't been dropping them all the way through my teens. You'll thanks yourself when you hit bcnm levels

At level 25, I know a great spot for you to farm, and you will get a little EXP while you are there.

You know the pond in the middle of La Thene Plateau? Head there and look for a cliff that will lead down the cavern north of the pond in La Theine.

Find the path down, then head to the end of the cavern, where you will find a cave. The Poisonous Fungars do agro, so you may need to figt your way through.

There are 3 caverns and 2 tunnels, when you make it through the 2nd tunnel, you will be in the 3rd cavern. You will know you are here when you see the Stone Monument used in the Selbina Clay quest for the Crawlers nest Map.

Now that you are here, start killing Fungars, Huge Wasps and Bats in the cave. You will be collecting Beehive Chips, Giant Stingers, Sleepshrooms, Bat Wings, Bat Fangs, and Dark Crystals. All of which sell very fast, and for a hefty amount of gil per sack.

But who wants to just farm for hours? The best thing about this spot is a NM that spawns there about once every 3 hours. The Tumbling Truffle drops a Fungus Hat. It sells for about 15K, somewhat small game, so it is rarely camped.

Empty out your inventory, and get to work. On a good day I'd pull 25K an hour, and if I got the NM and the drop, that jacks up the yield to 40K an hour! Not bad at all for a level 25 player.

Hehe Sing I still camp there :)

I farm the sleepshrooms and bat wings constantly :) I use both in my crafting.
