My set party and I are looking for a ranger to be our 6th member. The set party makeup is as follows: Nin/War 58, Thf/Nin 59, Sam/War 59, Brd/Whm 58, Whm/Blm 58. We exp by picking up a 6th and we have found that a ranger allows us the fastest exp per hour. We made 17k exp in about 4 hours night before last. We are a fast paced party that has fun while partying, mixing up SC's on the fly and such. You must be able to keep up with a fast pace. We want our puller to pull non-stop =) Also, we try to exp every night unless members are doing missions or LS stuff. We usually dont get started until around 11pm central time during the week and party for a couple hours. On the weekend we exp anytime we are all gonna be online. We also use TeamSpeak to keep in contact with each other during exp parties. Just a suggestion, take it for what it's worth =)
You don't have any jobs to MB off of all the skillchains that you'll be creating from that SAM in the party. I think a BLM would suit your party better than a RNG would.
My last 2 set parties have been NIN, THF, SAM, BRD, WHM, BLM. It's an extremely successful combination.
A RNG wouldn't be a bad choice by all means, but I think a BLM would better suit your setup.

We have had both BLM and RNG in that 6th spot (those are the only jobs we've filled it with to do our little experiment to see which we prefer) and while it's nice to have a BLM to MB on one SC or two - having a RNG keeps the exp just rolling and does more damage.
BLM doesnt do as much damage off the traditional Enpi > Viper Bite with blizzard burst as a RNG does with Enpi > Sidewinder for Distortion. Don't forget each time Distortion is done, I am bursting with Ninjitsu for 200 also with Hyoton and Suiton and the Whm is bursting with Blizzard for at least 100. Plus the RNG and THF or the SAM and NIN or the THF and SAM are SC with each other with on the fly SC's.
We are getting chain 5's non stop whenever RNG is in party. Plus no downtime for BLM needing to heal and with us killing the mobs fast there is no real downtime for the WHM either with ballad and ballad 2.
It's a great setup and I personally like to deviate from the traditional tank, DD, DD, mage, mage, mage setup. The most unconventional parties are usually the best.
Thank you for the advice though. =D We tested out our theories before posting what we wanted here to be sure we had the set party we wanted ^^
EDIT: Totally had a brain fart and forgot I was in school while thinking about exping. I'd be happy to join you guys if you need a RNG and I'm not busy though. Feel free to give me a tell when I'm on. ^^;

Well Theo, I have officially decided to steal you and Noxx away from your soon-to-be set party. The exp with you guys in our party was great. You are an exceptional ranger and Noxx rocks as WHM. Leave them and come to Moonpie's team! LOL! But seriously, thanks for partying with us and helping me get lvl 60^^ I hope sometime in the future we can party with you both again.
I still need a ranger and now a white mage (our whm went back to playing his SAM 61 - he missed whacking the mobs =D ) for the set party. We are all level 60 now. Some are close to level 61 so....

Awww, Qinny - you know I love Black Mages! But for the party setup we have, since Revelr changed to SAM has made it difficult for us to include a BLM. It's all good though - you are a rocking BLM and you know it! =D

Yeah Chopss we've had blms and rngs rotating out of the pt, but we like rngs better cuz we usually fook the mobs up too fast to justify using 300+ MP for MB'ing when the mob only has a lil bit o life left... Revelr likes seeing those MB's go off at half life for da win!.
