Before I start I'd just like to clarify that my favorite MMO right now is FFXI. I like FFXI more than WoW and don't ever intend to switch to WoW.
That said, I think that WoW has some seriously incredible potential. People complain about the lack of things to do in WoW late-game, but FFXI was just like that when it came out over in Japan. NA got lucky and recieved the game with the massive Zilart expansion, but before that I'm not even sure (can't confirm this) that FFXI had chocobos. The max level was 50, etc etc.

- NMs ? Spawn rate = 5 mins ... Cool ! Drop rate = about 1% ... *bam*
- No farming. Yes, negative point. No farming because you can't sell these damn "rare" items per AH or Trade. So you must obtain you friggin' Agi+6 dagger by killing this NM that drops it 1/1000 time ... You don't spent 30 hours farming gils to buy your item, you spent 30 hours camping the NM to get it.
This is true and not true. There are NMs in WoW, and they do have very low drop rates. However, every single mob in the game has a chance, albeit a low one, to drop really good items. In FFXI you'll never see a clipper drop, say, a pair of Mage's Sandels for your level 20 mage character.
In WoW however, all mobs everywhere can generally drop items for their level class. The drop rates are extremely low, but if you're killing the same mob 100s and 100s of times over and over for xp then chances are you'll get one. Now, you may get unlucky and the monster may drop something awesome for your level, but useless for your class. That just means cash money for you. This system has flaws yet, but I can see incredible potential behind it since it's already a good system. Remember that WoW is brand new and has a lot of time ahead of it.

Maybe. Maybe not. It's impossible to say what Blizzard may have put in as secruity.

- A party ? What's this ? 6 peoples running around, slapping random mobs ? Pff ...
This is not so different from what we do in FFXI. The only real difference is that we don't run around slapping random mobs, rather we sit around and slap the same 1 or 2 mobs over and over again. Which situtation is preferable depends on the person. I think I prefer sitting around myself, as a mage.
Something extremely awesome about WoW that I was personally incredibly impressed with is the fact they've got special dungeons that are for YOU and YOUR party ONLY. You enter the portal and it generates an area where you and whoever you've gone with are completely alone to level up or treasure hunt as you want. No incredibly crowded beaches at Valkrum. No running to get the claim on that mandy.
This system agian has some flaws to it, but the potential behind it is staggering.
I haven't addressed everything you've said Freyir because a lot of it is true. WoW is still a brand new MMO and needs a ton of work. Then again, so did FFXI (Still does, as a matter of fact. The curse of all MMOs.) when it first started off. However, I'm extremely impressed with what they've done in WoW and look foward to see how they improve.
You might ask why I'm looking foward to it if I don't ever intend to switch to WoW. Well, WoW has done a lot of things for the MMO genre I hope that other MMOs in the future will emulate. If another FF MMO comes out maybe 3 or 4 years down the line I may want to switch to it, and if WoW has had a positive influence on how the game plays then I'll be extremely happy.
As for why I like FFXI more...
- FFXI is the most beautiful MMO I've ever seen, visually and muscially. Hands-down. Character models, armor models, cities, it's all stunning. WoW is gorgeous, but in a much different way than FFXI and I personally am not half as impressed.
- The whole Alliance/Horde war in WoW is incredibly stupid to me. It'll only foster idiotic hatred between people who play on either side, and Lord knows we've already got enough idiotic hatred in MMOs. It's also painfully limiting. I don't really like any of the races in the Horde, but prefer the Horde over the Alliance any day of the week. This is the main absolute reason I'll never play WoW. Such a horrible system, in my mind.
- I know more guys in FFXI. My real-life friends, my in-game friends are all around me in FFXI. I've got some awesome real-life friends in WoW, but no in-game friends. It would suck to leave my in-game friends behind and rarely if ever see them again. :(
