But when you hear a lame excuse like we were given instead of saying "A friend gave me the money but wanted to remain anonymous" wouldn't your eyebrows raise? Especially since even if he told folks in our LS that it was you who gave him the cash it wouldn't have netted you a lot of tells begging for gil. We aren't exactly poor, and if someone needs something (within reason) we try to help out with farming or whatever (2 scorp harnesses is a bit much for us).
I don't see how making a deduction based on the facts that I had makes me childish. Nor do I see where talking about it in a thread where we are discussing gil sellers and gil buyers is inapropriate.
I welcome an opposing view, you assumed I'm one of these howling asshats who isn't capable of changing my point of view, and when have I ever given you that idea?
Go for it, lock the thread. I'm done with it. I'll let my LS know you were Domon's mysterious benefactor and move on. Domon is one lucky fella to have you there looking out for him.

Thank you all for the advice, I play this game for fun and I kinda forgot that. I was very pissed off at the fact that I wasted a weekend at what I thought was a good gil making idea over the weekend. While I was there I got MPK'ed by the Jerrys for no reason, I was just killing a Quad and all of a sudden they came out of no where with about 50 of them and died next to me. LS friends where killing Amemit when they also got MPK'ed.
I only get upset because I play to have fun, and the fun factor has gone down lately, with inflation and other things. I never break any plans to play, I always go out when the opportunity arrives. My GF has a busy schedule at work, and my friends have recently gotten married so life is very different for them and me since I have no one to hang out with. Most of the time I find myself alone and I play. Last night was a very delightful night eating Sushi and drinking warm Sake with friends, Thursday I get engaged so maybe FFXI might be retired once I get married. I would love to keep in touch with friends so my character may be around for a very long time. I am not quitting yet I have many months to go, I hope before I get bored but in the next few months I might cut down my play time.
I like this game not because of the game itself but for the people. I mean chances are I will never meet most of my in game friends IRL, and I suck at keeping in touch. I will miss the Tarutarus once I quit, their little dances etc. Wether you like it or not people place sentimental value on the people they play with, and you will miss them if you have a heart. "*****" is the favorite word of BrokenDream LS, I will miss calling them "whores". Or laughing my *** off seeing me and singular the "toughest" n00bz in IntensityLS get killed when a bomb explodes cause Tsetsuo's stun macro didnt work. I mean I could care less about my character, I care about my friends, this is why is hard to let go.
I wrote the posts before this one in a euphoric rage, and if I made any assumptions I am sorry. I just wanted to make this point clear, there is not such thing as a burden for me other than me quitting and having to miss the conversations I have with you all while we are all online.

Arcage did bought the acount. He bought account for lv75 Paladin but he leveled Ranger to 75. So I guess hes still a lv75 n00b to you right?

I'm not sure how to feel, offended or honored. Apparently my mere existance is an offense to Calima. I haven't even posted in this thread until now.
Anyways, in an attempt to get this thread back where it BELONGS. At least send me a tell ingame to discuss it. Talking in long threads with little chance for instant response doesn't seem as effective as a person-to-person chat. I know I addressed this somewhat over on the PLD forums, but things can be rather aggravating at times. Sometimes you just gotta look at working around them, rather than forcing a change. I'm sure with time you'd be able to work something out, just gotta give it a chance.

The best way to get rid of people like this, is by reporting them to GMs. The more reports, the better. And if that doesn't work, find some RDMs to return the favor ^_^

In semi-response to a previous post, It is possible he made a lot more than that through gardening. I made many millions that way. Of course, when I started I was getting 300k per ore. Pretty simple actually, buy/farm a few stacks of cuttings, 5 or 6. (40k/stack at the time) plant the cuttings and grow saplings. The 6 cutting stacks will net you 8-10 sapling stacks. Use enough mules to plant all of them (10 in my case.) Grow mostly Ice, with a variety of dark and water thrown in. Planting for Ice will net 100-150k/harvest from normal results, without a single ore. My first glorious harvest I made over 5 mil, because my ores sold for 250-350k/each. Admittedly, this recipe has become so common that it no longer makes anywhere near that kind of gil.
Also, while R3 is not one of the things being farmed by gilsellers, they still cause the price to go up. Inflation rarely remains in a small area, it tends to spread. Sniper Rings are almost a must have for many melee jobs. When the price of these goes up, it means that the buyers will need to make more gil. They can do this by charging more gil for whatever they farm. If only one or 2 items is being gilseller-camped, it will remain isolated, and not have a large impact. When literally dozens of items are being camped, it does spread. Look at the real world, price increases always occur, 1% inflation is a normal average annual rate. Now, some individual items my go up in price a lot more, without having a large overall effect. However, when many prices increase by a wide margin, it forces other prices to go up in order to maintain balance. In this game, gilsellers are one of the major factors in the inflation. There is a second major factor as well though, sheer numbers. As the servers get mroe and more people, the demand for items such as Leaping Boots will climb. However, the supply is not going to increase. That lizard dies and drops as fast as he possibly can, so we have a supply shortage. Through natural market forces, this allows people to raise the price, until the demand goes down low enough to match the supply.
