Ashmaker Glotblut NM guideFollow

I camp this NM all the time on our server and was bored one day so i posted this guide on my LS site. they suggested i post it here so here it is!


Ashmaker Glotblut-lvl 17-18 Orc
Orc, Yughott Grotto-job(black mage)
lvl 25-34 has moderate to little challenge killing Ashmaker.
35+ can kill easily

As with most NMs, it is recomended that either your main or your sub be THF for treasure hunter 1 or 2. you should also have a main or sub that has a fast way of claiming. example given: provoke, jump, stun, flash

Ashmaker Glotblut spawns in roughly one to two hours.
He is a lottery pop so you MUST kill all the orcs for him to spawn.

Ashmaker has 3 drop items

Common Drop:
Hermit's Wand
+MND +INT
spell interuption rate down 25%
lvl 13
whm/blm/rdm/smn

This item will drop 97% of the time. It sells for around 7000 gil in Jeuno and around 5000 gil in most other cities. While camping Ashmaker Glotblut, you will obtain a large ammount of these.

Moderate Drop:
Fire Crystal.
I have never had this item drop for me but I have heard that some people have had it drop. Its more or less worthless.

Rare Drop:
Priest's Robe-DEF 14
+1 MND; +2 Darkness Element
lvl 19
whm/blm/rdm/smn/thf/mnk/rng/drk

This drop item is extreamly hard to get. I have had it drop twice in the long time that I have camped Ashmaker. Don't plan on getting this drop but celebrate if you are lucky enough to get it.

this drop is worth 50k-70k in every AH.

spawn info

Like I said, it spawns in roughly 1-2 hours. You HAVE to kill all the orcs in the room as they spawn to make sure Ashmaker Glotblut spawns. There is a triangle of stones in area H-9 of the room on the south wall. He will always spawn on the south wall and 90% of the time near that triangle of stones. The other 10% of the time, it will spawn on the far side of the south wall away from the triangle of stones (G-9). In all the times i've camped it, there have NEVER been more than 5 people camping it at any given time, but I can only speak for the Bismark Server when I say this. Since mining points spawn in this room, and people come here for Kazham keys, you have to be watching for people that run through the room. People who come to Yughott, whether to mine, level, or hunt chest keys, if they see Ashmaker Glotblut spawn, they will try to claim it. This notorious monster is good for beginners of any level. As long as you can kill it solo or with a partner, you will have a good time camping this NM. every time you camp you will come away with money, equipment, and if you claim it, a drop item worth some decent money.

heh, thanks ^^ i had to camp this guy for a few months to save up enough money for my first sniper ring so i learned pretty much everything about him ^^

hmm, good point. i've never had trouble with that myself because i just kill all the orcs for minor gil and equip drops while i wait for spawn, but i'll add that in just to make the guide more complete.

I speak for mostly any minner in Yughotto and knows me. We dont just run up and happen to steal your spawn. We know the timmer on Ashmakers and that is a part of our minning trips. While you are standing waiting on the 1 hour pop time we mine keeping our eyes on the time for the next pop.

lol... I don't know why you included the fire crystal BalforX... the only mobs that don't drop crystals are the Empty (which are mere figments of imagination.. with an attitude).
You only get crystals if you get exp though.

The hermit's wand is a cheap skill up path for high level woodworking, and we salute you for gathering them :)

heh, first, i put the fire crystal in there just cuz it CAN drop lol.

and i will eventually use them for crafting myself once i get higher than WW9 lol.

if you get the priest's robe drop again, i would like to contract a direct sale. i can put some gil up front and at the least save you AH fees. send me a /t in game if interested.
