Getting gil or getting experienceFollow

#1 Feb 08 2005 at 9:13 AM Rating: Default
If you have read any of my threads you know I'm all about gil. I guess that's why a brutha chose thief to be his main. Anywho I find that having gil and getting my "paper" up is easier for me in the long run when I can level later on. At first I thought taking a month and a half to get gill to level with no slow down was ok. Yet my friend keeps calling me and every now and then is like man, how can you be like level 30 with your thief that long? I'm like hey whatever man. You see how many times you keep whining about how much little gil you have? Anyway back to the matter at hand. Um.. any higher ups agree with my methods? A guy in my linkshell was like I rather be a higher level than have gil. That didn't seem to fit when I heard that. I partyed with someone awhile back who uttered these words "If you have no gil what's the point of leveling?". I think truer words have never been spoken. If you disagree plese share or comment with your experiences. Thanks in advance. Hola back.

Theif doesnt take much gil to level >.< Ive been through 60 levels of Theif, best method IMO get to lvl 45(TH2) at a comfortable pace then you can start farming and stocking up on your cash. Farming money comes ALOT essier at higher lvls.

my precious..... all i need is my precious gil.....

My opinion, (which i haven't know anyone to ever take serious) its your 12 bucks or w/e a month. Do what ever the **** you want with it, i know people who are just happy running around town /poke'n peeps. I'm Otay with that and if your Otay with that, than its down and dirty A-O-tay.

The point of leveling is to be a super high level job to go see the really pretty world and fight exotic things. And to have teh gilz.

I personally used to try to get by with the least amount of gil possible. I was a WHM and I really only tried for more money when I needed a new spell.

Now, I've discovered that spending time w/ IRL friends just goofing off and farming is more fun to me. My boyfriend and I, along with a friend of ours, spent a week doing BCNM20 over and over and over. I would 2 hour each time (as bst), so we'd spend the next two hours in Jugner or Battalia just farming and messing around.

Since we made decent money from that, we've been crafting. I take the time to farm most of my materials, and frankly, I've had no desire to get an xp party lately. I've been playing since last February and my linkshells can vouch that I've been stuck at 37whm and 41rng for about 6 months now. All the people I met in the beginning are 65+, and I'm still averaging 40.

Does this bug me? No. I pay just like everyone else...if making money in a virtual economy is what makes things fun for me, that is what I'll do. My boyfriend actually stopped playing because he was tired of the level grind. The only thing that appealed to him and got him playing almost more than me is the desire to earn money.

So my verdict? Do what you'd like. It is a bit tough if you have close-knit friends who DO want to level, because you're left either a) not being able to participate in what they do or b) not being able to ever help them out and its always unreciprocated aid. I'm in a bit of an ideal situation where the three of us all work and go to college and have no problem waiting for each other. We have 2-3 mules each, so there's always something to kill time with.

I say do you what you want and well if you want to look good doing it then take a little time to farm for it^^ I mean hey if you want to be the person who runs around poking people but you want to do it in lets say _____ Akaton and a pair of Astrals why not?
lots of people tell others how to play and tons of people do that too me but until i see the $16~ a month i am spending on my Main and mules in the mail from X player i'll be listening to me and meerly taking advise when i see fit. True i am interacting with other people but hey i don't have to look good when interacting.....well maybe some pants and a shirt of some sort since i don't fancy a naked galka to represent myself ingame >.<
And well as to chosing Higher Lvl or Higher Wallet i say: Why not slow down and have fun getting both^^
