Valentine's Day Event - Ideas?Follow

Okay, so, I must have taken a large blow to the head or something because I'm actually up for doing something for Valentine's Day despite the minor disaster that Secret Santa turned out to be. It was a lot of fun despite all that, so I do want to give this another shot. Plus this forum has been nothing but negativity lately and we need more happy silly fun stuff going on.

There are two ways this can go: I can set it up like the Secret Santa thing, where everyone signs up, names go into a hat, and presents go out through a mule (Cupidslilhelper this time, naturally). I do want to repeat the mule situation despite the confusion it caused last time because then I can hold on to all the presents and figure out who's a deadbeat and who doesn't get anything BEFORE I start sending stuff out, one of the mistakes I made last time.

The other idea will take a bit more planning and some volunteers. For this, you don't get assigned a secret Valentine - you pick someone, or possibly several someones, you want Valentines to be sent to, and send the gift and the message of choice to my mule, hopefully to be delivered in person. I'm envisioning an entire Taru army running around on the designated delivery days, walking up to someone while they're partying with a /poke, a rose, and some ridiculous song-and-dance about someone who loves them.

Or you could send a subligar strip-o-gram.

I'm fully aware this would take a lot to pull off but I want to try it anyway. I can't possibly do it on my own, so if you think you'd like to volunteer for the Valentine Army, or if you have a better idea, or if you just like to post, drop a reply here and tell me what you think.

I like my Valetine's Day tradition: grab some friends and drink heavily! Why? Cuz it's my birthday!

Honestly, I like the idea of the taru army. Or just one. Taru bards look really cute when they're singing without an instrument.

I would love to volunteer to help. I have a Taru mule in Windy so I can deliver in Windy.

Otherwise I can just use my main (Mithra) and travel around to find the people to deliver to. I could sub Bard and sing or something :-D

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!

No secret Valentine for me.

However, 40 dead level 1 DRG in Subligar in the middle of Lower Jeuno, now thats a Valentines day event!

You're insane, Byaina. Or just masochistic.

If you want warps or something after doing deliveries let me know.

Valentine's day... bah.

Hmmm... a bard-and-subligar army. I LIKE it. Tarus to sing, sexay Elvaans to dance around... HOT!

Okay, then, it's official. You can choose to have us send a gift and a message, or you can choose to have a singing telegram or a strip-o-gram sent to your beloved. When you sign up though, please let us know when your Valentine is usually around, so I can set up delivery times accordingly. Eleusynia and I are going to be in charge of this shebang, so contact one of us via PMs or in game to let us know what you want to do. Cupidslilhelper has not been created yet - I'll try to take care of that by the end of the night - but when he is, that's where you should send any gifts you want your Valentine to get.

Ah, I love you guys. :) You always validate my crazy ideas.

I have an idea, how about you not shit on my thread when the whole point of it was to get some of that kind of negativity off the forum? We can care about each other and have fun in a virtual community too, so... hey, knock yourself out if that's what you'd rather do, I'm just offering something fun we can do instead of whining about how XYZ person screwed us over or our karma sucks or etc.

Continue, please.

Tweedius, I don't know if your post was made in jest or not, but c'mon man! Loosen up a bit.

Don't rain on the parade. I won't be doing any naked dancing either, but if that's what floats Byaina and her cadre of scallywags' boats... let 'em have their fun. It might prove amusing to watch. In fact, it definately will prove amusing to watch.

You've always been a decent poster, why the need for this shit? Not called for at all, bro.

Thanks a ton for reminding me about the one of the dreaded two Hallmark Holidays men have to endure each and every year.

What day do men get? Groundhogs Day? Friggin' Flag Day? I don't think we have a special "man" day. But you women, ohhhhhh my...if we forget one or both (like I tend to do) of YOUR corporate sponsored holidays we are suddenly crap on a stick.

This has absolutely nothing to do with your in-game idea Byaina. To be honest I never even read it, lol. I just saw Valentine's Day and wanted to bitch.

And in all honesty really thanks for reminding me. If I had forgotten 2 yrs straight I bet I would be buying my own groceries for a week, maybe two. But she'd be back!!! They always come back to the Pimp Daddy from Cincinnati.

Oh yes.. you have it so hard... Christmas (you get toys, too), Superbowl, the SpikeTV (<3 MXC), World Series (a whole week of being a guy if you're lucky), football games, basketball games, etc.

Here you can have Valentine's Day. I'll trade you for just half of that.

Yeah, I know, it's all BS in the end. Honestly, I think only myself and people like me have the right to complain. We were born on a day where the only things people can think to get you are chocolate or something red. Both of which I hate. Can't really go out b.c your non-single friends are out bangin' away and your single friends are at home sulkin' around b.c they aren't out with that wonderful someone. Now *that* makes me want to puke =)

Nothing wrong with making a few people smile, though, even in the digital domain^^

Get married or live with someone and have some kids and see how hard it is to be a man. Yes women give birth to the child hold them in the womb for 7-9 months, etc. But we have to eat **** from our boss because if we lose our jobs there goes our livelihood. If you stay late at work, here comes an argument, if you spend too much time at work to afford the things that you need "you arent spending quality time anymore." And the argument about sports and BS, seriously thats so stereotypical is just as bad as saying a racial slur. There is a big population of men that hate sports, and in 3rd world countries (which is where I was born) women lack the education to work thus making the men the "bread winners" or what I like to call it "the superior's *****." The guy who invented this holiday and made every other holiday a commercial sham should get shot.

Tweed is right, BTW.

-_- Can we stop hijacking my happy fun thread please?

And you know what, frankly, I don't give a fuck how pathetic you think this idea is, or 'GET AN RL GF LOLZ' Take your bitterness to another fucking thread. Jesus, it's a real shock how these boards are all mudslinging and sturm und drang when people come and shit all over an attempt at doing something fun.

This is honestly pretty sad. People have been ******** and complaining about how this whole forum has become nothing more than karma-******** and flame wars. Someone tries to break away from that with a little fun and some of you see fit to come in here and drag the hijacking/flaming **** from every other thread with you.

FFS, grow up. If you dont like the idea, dont sign up, dont read the thread (take the advice so many of you give to everyone else who ******* in a thread you made).
