I am starting this thread as a way for all to collaborate ideas on how to figure out the password for the Strange apparatuses around Vana'. I have seen threads on other sights perhaps one on here somewhere. So if you have any ideas post here so that we can help each other out.

The password is easily obtained.
First attain Rank 10. Then complete all the Zilart and Promathia missions.
Once you have done this, go talk to Otto in Jeuno. He'll tell you to bring him a Coffer Key. It can be any one of them. Once you trade him the key he gives you the password.
Go to any one of the machines and enter the password. You will now be able to get to Sea.

Sorry, no password...but I did do the Dangruf Wadi SA (fire-based) twice yesterday.
Watersday - 2 x Adaman nuggets
Darksday - Fire cluster
54K spent on chips and Infinity cores, 45K returned on drops. Everyone I've read about who has tried it on Firesday has received a Fire cluster. I wanted to try it on Watersday, Iceday, Lightsday, and Darksday. My initial thought was to equate this to crafting...a fire-based synth is more likely to yield an HQ result on Darksday or Watersday, so I tried those. I'll try on Watersday again when I get a chance.

Actually, I'm also kind of hoping that someone out there has so much as an inkling to what the password is as well, but I doubt anyone really knows for sure. People have been asking about it for so long that word would have spread by now if someone had actually found out what it was =:\
Not to mention, trying in different password combinations would take approximately 784 pluto years. That machine accepts both letters AND numbers ; ;

Now watch some real geek will figure a way to set up Bruteforce to work on it >.>
It does say "digit", and I'm going out on a limb and saying it's not a word because Japanese/English translations would foul up the number of characters. There are 10 possible digits (0-9) and 8 spaces, so there are 10^8 (or 100,000,000) possible passwords. Assuming you can get through the text and try a password once every 10 seconds, that's 6 passwords a minute, 360 an hour, 8640 a day. At that rate it could take 11,575 days, or 31 years, to bruteforce it. It's tough to bruteforce something like that.
If you could somehow perform the check locally and validate, say, 100 passwords a second...that's 8,640,000 a day. It could be done in 11 days.
