I know the feeling. I've started to lose my drive as well. LS doesn't seem quite as fun as used to be, LS folks always off doing other stuff, leveling is a drag, gil is always an issue, yadda yadda yadda, etc., so on and so forth. What I'm doing is sh[lg][/lg]it that is personally amusing. Nothing big and spectacular, just dumb stuff that I would enjoy doing. Like the moronathon idea way back when. I've decided to do that. Not for any sort of recognition, but the challenge.

No point in this post, except maybe to say I'm there too and I've found a way to cope somewhat.

well, I myself have felt this way on multiple occassions. The first time, i started a Casino.. Well, we all remember what that turned into ><..

The second time, i started goldsmithing.. with the money i made from the casino, and i took that to level 52, and then for some reason i got the itch again.

You know the itch to get some xp.. so, i went out and got my level 53 blm some bad *** gear and then i took that bad boy to 75.. took me a while, but i just had the drive.. dont know what got into me..

Now that i am 75, and have a gimped sub job.. i have been wanting to get the ZM missions out of the way.. but its really hard to get these things organized. So i have basically dedicated all of my time into helping others..

Hey Szandor bro...

We need to get you back in the swing of things man.. For real, let us help you out with Rank 3.. you wont let us help you, but i bet once you got that out of the way, and we help you get rank 5 the airship pass, things would pic up..

I know your having fun with smithing, but why not get back into the xp game.. you just gotta go to Yhoator Jungle, and kill some mandys for a while, and get yourself to 30 out there..

I dont want to see you go bro..

I felt like that a bit today. So I went exploring.

Carpenter's Landing, Bibiki Bay, Purgonorgo Isle, Sanctuary of Zi'Tah, Ro'Maeve, & Hall of the Gods so far. We'll see how many other places I get before I die. (Probably soon, I'm heading for Bearclaw Pinnacle next, and I will probably get zimmered in Xarcabard or Uleguerand Range before then. Smiley: tongue)

First off, I ain't going anywhere till that scaley Windurstian fuck is dead by my hands and my hands alone. The more you and the rest of the LS says it can't be done, the more determined I get to do just to prove you all wrong. Second off, I had no fun with smithing. It's simply a way to make money. Money which I'll need for the fight. You saw my gear, you know what I spent most of it on. (Everyone else, it's in my sig.) Third, you bet your midget little ass that once that damn dragon is dead, I'll be out there exploring Vanadiel.

(Yes, I've had a bad day. Sorry if 2 curse words offend you. And yes, my mouth is relatively clean. My grandfather was a sailor. Ever hear the saying "Curse like a sailor"? If you ever heard a sailor curse, you'd know I didn't curse anywhere near as much.)

Edit: The post-scriptum.

Meh, Bearclaw didn't happen. Got side-tracked and had to leave Xarcabard, and didn't feel like making the effort to try again.

But I did get to look like a complete ****** to Wintaru and Cat, standing butt naked in the snow. ^^;

*looks around* /whisper Mythril Knuckles +1 would be a nice replacement for the NQ I got now, but you didn't hear that from me.

I mean whats the worst that could happen it kills you and you hp and do it again. As a DRG I was killed by the flag quest dragon a couple times no big deal, except that as a DRG I lost to the dragon but that was just my pride getting hurt. Just go in prepared and you should be fine.

Heheheh, you bet your as[li][/li]s I will, Solrain. There's a few small things I need to do before bringing down the beast. But once they're all finished, I'll see if I can edit a video.

That's the RDM spirit right there. And yes...it can be done by a rdm at 25.

Is it odd that i'm only going to the gathering to see a naked Zariko? O.O no...of course i'm going to see many other naked people too /nod.

But on topic <.<; just do new things, go explore. Hall of the gods made me love this game all over again (Casting sneak in the middle of Ro'maeve and being whomped on by every mob in the zone however...<.<)

This sounds remarkably familiar. /nod

I'm always up for a trip to Hall of the Gods. Look me up, I've got a singular talent for guiding people to places I have no right to be in. ^^

If we're still discussing dragon soloing, that monk was one lucky-*** guy. The dragon should've eaten him for lunch at the end there, but it missed like 5 times after he ran out of potions. So pack a lotta potions. A LOT.

I'm planning. Yeah, I know he was a Galka monk so he had vitality up the whazoo, so he could take the hits. I've got some vitality bonuses, but most of it's focused on +int. The rest is went into +evasion. If I could afford it, I'd buy Leaping boots and an Emperor's hairpin. Once I hit 60 smithing, I'll be able to generate enough money to keep in business for a while.

Yes, I have a plan for this. For those that care, it's:

~ Get blacksmithing up to 60. Desynth Quadav blackplates into Darksteel ingots, which will fund me from now into never-neverland.
~ Use money to get my fame as high as possible in all three cities.
~ Get gobbie bags 3 through 6 done.
~ Unlock Ninja. Level that to 13 for now.
~ Buy the finishing touchs to my gear.
~ Stack up on items, such as mana regen, + int, hipotions, etc. Needless to say, I'll be making high quality synthers very happy at this time.
~ Write my macros for the fight.
~ Set up my video card/vcr to tape the fight.
~ Go on early in the morning when no one else is on my linkshell. Do the fight, and succeed.
~ Transfer the video to disk, edit it to my liking, and cut it to cd/dvd. Mail copies to my LS buddies since they doubt me.
~ Post it here after they all get it.

szandor,

i know a rdm can solo almost anything. there's an almost legendary taru rdm (a JP that goes by Applepie on another msgboard, can't remember his ingame handle or server) that does just that.

as i remember it, the choice of sub was between DRG for dragon killer bonus, and i think DRK for some reason. it's hazy. i read it from a link found on this board though. someody who can run a search can find it.

also as i remember, he didn't have any trouble staying alive, because of stoneskin/phalanx, the issue was dealing enough damage in the allotted time. he finally killed it in 14:55, after doling out thousands of damage in dagger hits, and and equal or greater amount in en-spell damage. the key, he said, was some piece of equipment that gave an extra hastey bonus on top of his hastes.

theres also the original RDM 101 post in the RDM forum, in which the author descibes pwning some endgame guy (whatever the old man's name is. i don't know and don't want to have it spoiled, so whatever).

Wow. I really love how this went from Bellrogg's desire to play to my desire to have bragging rights.
