Removing a Food Effect...Follow

#1 Jan 21 2005 at 10:32 AM Rating: Good
I heard there was an NPC in Jueno that could do this now, anyone know where the little bugger is?

I have static tonight and as helpful as Dhalmel Stew is for a RNG, it doesn't do much for a WHM and I believe I have at least an hour on it yet Smiley: yikes

If I had been thinking this morning I woulda left Wint logged in while I was at work so it would have fallen off naturally but I wasn't and now I'm stuck. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I read somewhere he is a Taru next to the AH in Lower Jeuno. Never met him, myself.

You can also buy antiacids and they will remove the food effect. Should be under medicines or alchemy.

Seriously? You aren't pulling my leg? ^^

...searches Allakhazam....

I'll be damned, there they are. Rate up Chopss, I have a feeling that there won't be any (or if there are it'll be incredibly expensive, one ingred is Dried Mugwort o.o).

ok his name is Parike-Poranke he is a bit to the right of the AH, if you are looking at it. PAst the delivery people.

you just have to bring him a gysahl green

I am testing it now, used a bird egg

Ok... DO NOT buy them from the AH, they are 1k, none there though.

Go down to the choco stable and buy them there, 68 gil each (hero fame)

And it works! seems to be repeatable too. And he keeps track of how many times he has done it.

the current tally is 401 :)

Antacid is 20-50k, 3 have sold, there is 1 for sale now. the last selling price was 30k

Ok, TseTsuo, now...why don't you get on the ball and find out where that NPC that recharges charged items is at? ^_^ lmfao. Well, good to know about this guy, at least.

Rate up Tse, thanks for the info I'll be paying him a visit tonight before static for sure.

Looking forward to trying out my Mushroom Stew (12k ouch!), with it I should break the 900mp barrier finally.

Actually Win, the NPC's name is Vrtra and you can find him in King Ranperres Tomb. All you have to do is get close enough to /slap him and he will take away your food status. Don't worry, he only looks like a dragon from far away. It is part of his built in defense mechanism & usually keeps his natural predators at a safe distance. He will even teleport you to your HP when he is done removing the status effect. This was one of the best NPC's that they added with CoP.

hehe ^^

Nice try slappy, maybe we'll go back to Attohwa Chasm tonight so you can show us how to properly tank Tiamat Smiley: grin

And to think that my wife now wants her character to be a PLD because of you (she likes the way your AF looks) Smiley: oyvey Still, seeing that little taru female with the afro puffs in full PLD AF would be a sight to see ^^

Our Taru in question, is standing just outside the door at the Merry Minstrel, I belive it was. He gets on your case about being chubby (having too many pies etc.) and does some kind of crazy flashy stuff an POOF! bye bye food effect. For all the time it takes to go through that, I'd almost consider shelling out for some Antacid instead hahaha.

*a more suicidal version: go change into a level 1 job, step outside and die. no more food problem.

Gah!

Why didn't I think of that. Cripes that's an even better solution haha:) Rate up!

Edit:

If you see a taru WHM named Biancataru running around the dunes that's my wife. She's very nervous about partying so if you happen to group with her be gentle (I'll probably be there with her as a safety net^^). She wants to take WHM to 30 so she can unlock PLD Smiley: clap

Well duh Win! You should have asked us! Or did you? LOL! Anyway, I would be happy to party with your wife if she's nervous about other people. Although I'm a little jealous of the fact that she likes Audion's gear over mine......

Haha :) My personal favorite is Feroh, Vivi was one of my favorite FF characters :)

But yes, she likes the PLD Bling better :) She can even resist the powers of P-diddy Naka's pimp hat lol. I was tempted to get a party of level 12's or so going as my NIN is currently 12 but I would need to find a group of people that don't mind training a new WHM ^^

I've got a 15 BLM I'm happy to level, if you need one, and soon I'll have SMN and BRD ready to work on, too. :)

Wow thanks for all the replies everyone :)

Imagine Cat, you, Yosh and I all going NIN. Triple blink tanks, with Bianca Healing and Zylle nuking it would be fun to try:)

Could try working Garan in there somewhere too.

I'll look you guys up when she's ready to party, maybe this weekend even :)

3 NIN's, 1 PLD, 1 WHM, 1 BLM?

Not sure how that would work but your THF would be welcome too :)

You know, if your Home Point is in Jeuno you could always switch to a level one job and die outside, then homepoint...poof no more food effect.

Also makes a good way to get back to Jeuno if you do not have warp and are near a moogle.

Nata, if they go through the roof any more, they're going to put the lunar lander out of business.

I didn't say they wouldn't. Smiley: tongue I'm just saying that is Hip finds out there's a vogue for three blink tanks in a given pt, he'll find a way to exploit it. ^^
