I don't know why... but it seems that everyone is quitting now... Is FFXI not fun anymore? A very very very very very (You get the point =P) good friend of mine left yesterday... name is Mbaki if you seen him around. Why is everyone leaving? >.>

Currently im in a lapse of playing final fantasy, I havnt turned it on in 2 days. This might not sound like a big deal but 2 days is alot for me. Right now i need to concentrate more on school and friends. Weekends will be my playing time.

I need to take a break every once in a while, but haven't once thought of leaving. If I start getting a little tired, I take a day or two off.

But I've only gotten burned out once that I can remember. I level very slowly and take my time enjoying other things and so I rarely have a problem getting sick of it.

I'm taking a forced break since the last POL update has made it so my PS2 version can't connect to the game anymore, which is only fueling my anger to quit. So yes, everyone gets pissed off at the game sometimes.

Well my reason for possibly quitting someday is due to many reasons, Making gil a pain, Nothing worse than having a monster to weak to be worthwhile powerown you. Or my favorite being forced to have to party in order to level, i like partying, but when i have to party with people who are either bossy or incompetent then it gets frustrating at times. The thing that has helped me is my LS at nite when i need them they are there so thats why i havent quit :) Go Green Brigade

I'm in the same situation right now. I'm up to a week out of game now. I've taken breaks like this before , even up to a month , but each time it seems to get harder to hit the little log in button and go back in game XD . It does seem like we're losing a lot of good players and friends right now. I've said goodbye to several just this month (most of them making the move to WoW). I've been lucky enough to make new friends as I go , but it hasn't quite been the same without the people I started with. I'd have probably fallen along the wayside myself were it not for a truly wonderful person making me promise not too.

FFXI is a grand adventure to most of us and, although I hate to admit it , in every great adventure there must come the inevitable goodbyes. It saddens me to think that, one day, I'll too have to tip my hat and bid my adieus as eventually we all must. Until that fateful day my adventure shall continue as I hope all of yours do as well ^.^

Well Andy, sad to say but I have quit. >.< Mostly because I don't have a credit card anymore and have no way of paying. I've been playing WoW, at least they have pre paid time cards. If FFXI ever releases those I might start playing again. But that looks doubtful.

Did you see that they have those pre paid cards now that you just add money too?

It happens a lot. I was about ready to quit a couple months ago, before I bought my Sniper's Ring. And I'll probably think about doing it again while I try to get the gil together for Vassago's Scythe, Haubergeon and a Bomb Core. But I doubt I'll quit, but spending all my time during the weekends when I come home trying to make gil is gonna be boring as all hell.

Might drive me to quit, but...I'll get around it somehow.

I've been doing almost nothing in the game lately but mining, crafting and fishing, trying somehow to build up the gil to go through the entire rest of the game :D

eh, it's not happening. I hear you.

When I get tired of 'the second job', I just hit /shutdown and go play with something else for a while. It really does help just to have a couple projects going on the side; you can think up ideas while doing monotonous gil-farming, it makes the time fly, and you have something to look forward to when you finish.

My linkshell is mostly what's kept me going in the game.
Gailen, Xano, Chibi, Hito, Theophany, Mach, Scath and Hoser, these are the people I look forward to talking with, and they keep me rolling on the floor laughing. I love my LS, and it's kept me in the game big time. The conversations are just insane XD

("In Vana'diel, they are called Adventurers. In the real world, they're hobos."
"OMG...this hobo trained 36572354 cops on me! I was fighting this one cop and the hobo trained me!"
"Zone into Brooklyn! Zone into Brooklyn!!!!")

Yeah, if it wasn't for those people over there at the KnightsofRonfaure entertaining me during my last farming stint, I probably would have quit. Farming all weekend long for four months straight does tend to get boring, and having a good LS at least kills some of that boredom. :P

Actually Ely they now are selling Prepaid FFXI cards. They go for about 20 dollars each i believe.

Otherwise its a shame to see you go. Iv'e known you since we were both newbs many moons ago ; ;

That's hilarious Sioux. Sounds like my linkshell at times. Yes, the one with Hiptaru in it. Yeah, many people don't like some of the stuff he does, but Hip's hysterical on the linkshell. Also have Arondight (sagashe on here) who I banter with. I know Arondight for about nearly a decade ago, so the ribbing can get pretty out there. Which turns out to be quite the amusement to other linkpearl holders.

I've been doing what the same as you, so I know where you're coming from. And if ya ever want some conversation when the linkshell's quiet, send me a /tell.

If I don't die from laughter, I might start playing again soon. Been off and on (and mostly off) for a long while now (noticed I haven't leveled, not even a teeny TINY bit, in forever?)

But I think I really am going to die of laughter from that. Smiley: grin

Speaking of ribbing, what kind of grammar was that?! "For about nearly a decade ago..."? Word syntax order not in?

Smiley: tongue Just playing. ^^

It's true for me as well. Maybe we should create a linkshell called the "Save me from bordom as I smack mobs around for 40 hours straight to make 25 gil" Linkshell, to provide entertainment while we all sit here with bloodshot eyes and play Torture Me For Money.

Smiley: tongue

[Edit: Changed "blood shot eyes" to "bloodshot eyes". "Bloodshot eyes" are eyes that are red from staring at your HELM/farming area of choice for one third of your entire life, and most of your FFXI life, trying to make enough money to buy a frickin' HAT, only to watch the price go up. "Blood shot eyes" is a grammatically incomplete clause which seems to be describing a magical pool of blood that occassionally fires eyeballs from out of its depths into the faces of unwary travellers.

Didn't want there to be any confusion. Smiley: grin]

Not mine originally, I confess. My friend LD came up with that 'un.

You're welcome to keep it and use it, however, if you like. ^^
