Hello ^^

Well, I was wondering about some things ... I guess you won't receive any "whispers" from any Mini-Trial, so you must first beat the 6 "normal" avatars in their "Prime" form in order to slap Fenrir.

My only one and first experience of slapping Fenrir was "with" Andretti, I didn't see the fight (Couldn't enter, if I would I won't post here ^^), but they beat it with a PT of 5 people (The 6th member d/c in front of the Full Moon Fountain <_< ... ), and the 5th member was Lv69.

So, I was wondering if a PT of 5 people Lv60~ could /slap the 6 "normal" avatars "Prime" forms ?

(The first one to guess what I will do if I got a positive feedback wins a candy bar ^^ !)

They could, yes.. but it'd be much better if you had one person (the tank) be at least level 65+, because.. well, let's just say the 2 hours from the corresponding avatars aren't very fun to be up against.

from my experiences, doing 5/6 fights, mages can be 55, melee 60 and tank should be 60-65+.

I have been rejected from several non-LS party's because i am only a 56BLM. However the PT we built from our LS let me stay :) and i think i earned my keep. As long as i nuked with whatever the avatar is weak to i didnt get any resists.

Now keep in mind also the lower level you are the better gear/food you should be using for the fight(i used all my int+ gear). If you are mage you may want to bring an ether or something just in case as well as some yag drinks if you don't have a RDM.

Thanks ^^ - But well, I was just wondering this because I'd like to do SMN. But, I really don't want to have Fenrir only for the last 15 levels - considering I take A LOT of time to "lvl", consering that I took 4 months to get ready with my Lv20 jobs, and got Lv30 with THF and BLM in 1 week ;_; ... (/slap farming) - So I was thinking about gathering a PT to /slap the avatars with my Lv30 BLM, even if it will make me feeling very, hum, "uncomfortable" because it's like "leeching" something from 5 people :'( ... (I really don't think my spells won't be resisted by them, even with +19INT... It's like trying to /slap a Sea Horror with Thunder :p) - At least I would get Fenrir for 75 Lvls instead of 15 ... -

Another question : If you beat the "Primes" avatars, but keep the orbs, do you still "get" them, I mean, let's imagine I'm in a PT who killed Shiva, could I summon her ? Actually, I don't hope so. I'd really like to try the Mini-trials just for the fun and the challenge :s

Here's a quick rundown of how it works:

Get all the tuning forks (not mini-forks) from the proper NPCs in the respective towns.

Gather a party and go to the appropriate Cloister (Tides, Gales, etc,)

If you win, you get a whisper.

Now you have two options: 1) Return to the NPC that gave you fork for a "prize" or a pact with the summon or 2) take the whispers to an NPC in Windy to get a moon bauble.

Please note - if you want all your summons from the prime fights as well as a bauble for Fenrir, you will have to do all the prime fights twice.

I honestly don't see how you could survive a fight as a 30 blm. Fenrir's difficulty far exceeds that of the other prime avatars. As a 68 bard, I still won't go. However, a party of what you suggested could indeed take the other primes avatars with some skill.

With Dark Carol up, at 68 you shouldn't have a problem. But he dispels a ton. Have to keep doin' it.

Thanks Raynedrop ^^ - So I will still be able to do the Mini-trials if I do this :) -

Anyway, even If I "die" during the fight, but the PT still kill the avatar, wouldn't I receive a whisper anyway ? (If I don't HP ...)

30 is too low to do the high level fights. You would be a drag on the PT and would barely dent it with spells.

+19 int doesn't matter because your base int will be too low.

you want to have ideally the tier 3 and the -ga teir 2 spell for that avatar, ancients wouldn't hurt either.

and that is just for the normal avatar fights, the fenrir fight is a whole nother ballgame and not to be taken lightly. A gimped PT would stand a good chance of dying.

you will still recieve the whisper, but unless you personally know 5 other people willing to risk their lives to do the fights you will have a tough time doing the high level fights.

I know that my Lv is much too low, either I wouldn't ask this ^^ - Like I said, I won't be useful to the 5/6 PT, there's nothing I could do useful during the fight, even with a little Div.Seal+Cure III on the tank... and so I'll be like a "leech", and that's why I would feel bad to do this. (Un)fortunately, I would feel worse to only have Fenrir for my last 15 Lvs :s ... that's the problem.

Why? There's no dishonor in achieving Fenrir in the traditional/honorable fashion (by having a job leveled high enough to of benefit to the party fighting).

The best career summoners I know had to wait.

It's not "bad", it's "normal" actually, but I would feel bad if I played with the last summon for like 10-15 Lvls... I'd so like to "play" with it, during my 75 levels, not only the last 10 :s ...

/em raises hand.

While it haunts me to not have him, I still get invites. Granted I always get the "No Fenrir no party...haha j/k" cracks that make me wanna punt them into another server, but I know I'll get him some day.

Most people level a job to 70, get Fenrir, then start as a level 1 SMN. Me? I don't care about any other job but SMN, so I deal with the crap, take my lumps and move on.

My advice? Get SMN to 20, do the mini battles. Then, level your main to 70, get the whispers, get the doggie, and have fun for 55 levels.

SMN will either be my main, or at least my sub - So I can't really do this, also because it will take me 6 months at least to get to Lv70 because of my "way of playing" ... Always the right and best gear for my Lvl :s

Good to hear you'd rather go that route. It's not easy, and as a SMN, you will prolly be a mail healer from 30 on. Unless you sub BLM, then you might have a hard time finding parties. >.< Good luck. /tell me if ya got questions.

To be honest.. the avatar battles are soloable as a RDM.. or if you have a BRD and a MNK, duoable. I know I did all of my avatars and whatnot several times with no more than a SMN, a NIN, and Me, or a BRD, a MNK, and Me, and we almost broke the record on them every time. Mind you, I was the lowest level of the group, at 67... but still, at higher levels, these fights are easy as ****.
