Geez, you have a bad day then suddenly, people who you don't even know nor even know you think you're a completely horrible player just because they read a short paragraph of one other person's opinion over in net.

They're fun to read, but lets not take them too literally, will ya?

Props to Playerfive for defending me, though I didn't really care much for his comments. My god that guy has insanly uber gear O_o

So I'm not on the "bad player" list, but neither am I on the good player list. I've partied with a couple of the people on this board, and I got no props for doing a damn good job as a blm =P

Anyways, you're right. People shouldn't take this too literally. It is just another person's opinion of you, and it's not like SE is gonna stop taking your money cuz a few players might now like how you played. I wouldn't give it too much thought.

I see people on the list all the time and typically don't care much unless it was something deplorable (for example the guy that casts spells on people while crafting).

Byaina may be able to explain it better than me. But basically the list is there for people to share their poor experiences with a player, and if someone else shared an experience with that person, they could add to the list. When used properly, the list is a good way to keep people aware of any troubles they may have. I know some people use the "it's just a game" phrase, but it's hard to take comfort in that when those are *real* people playing those characters and know full well what they're doing. I play my games to have fun, and it's good to know which players are known for taking that experience away from people.

Here's the thing, if you're taking the bad player's list to be a list of people whom you should avoid like the plague, don't. It's not even called the "bad player's list" for that very reason. Yes it's mostly the player's opinions of the person, but those opinions aren't always unfounded. Basically, just keep their, well, "transgressions" in mind, but don't hold it against them unless they do something to deserve it. I'll use my Bakemono example. You'll notice I'm hardly fond of him, and I'm not the only one who's shared an experience. Does that mean you should avoid him or snub him? No, find out what you think of him for yourself. It's not meant to defame, it's meant to enlighten, and if a player's actions *do* defame them, then perhaps they shouldn't have done what they did.

The bad thing to me is that you actually care that much. I have partied with about 10+ people on that list that are actually nice guys and alright at what they do. If someone doesn't party with someone due to the fact that they are on that list they are just being ignorant and probably wouldn't be someone i'd like to party with anyways.

I pretty much ignore the majority of what's written on both 'Bad Players' threads. A person can have a bad day, a person can just be an arrogant stubborn jerk but otherwise a good player, a person can just be posting smack about someone because they didn't like their attitude for whatever reason.

The Bad Players thread though does contain some people, 'repeat offenders' if you will, who are consistently either thieves, rude, mean, really awful at what they do, AND (and this is key here) suffer no remorse and see no reason to change their ways in the slightest. People like Libien and Savont (who /enjoy/ attempting to con people out of their money) or perhaps that person who consistently harasses someone and messes with their synths, or ever infamous Lizy who is at one point a thief and another someone who just let the wrong person play with their account. Regardless, the thread is there for people to put all that annoyance, anger, and frustration into one place without cluttering any other forum. It's up to the reader to make their own conclusions from what is posted.

Personally speaking, if someone is mentioned on the thread by someone I know to be an intelligent and unbiased person, I generally will be wary of that 'bad player' unless they prove me wrong otherwise (and I do give people many chances to prove me wrong).

Have no fear for the sake of your reputation. If someone is willing to base their entire opinion of you without even having PTed with you at least, then they're not necessarily the people who's opinion of you should matter.

Yes- i agree its important not to take the "BAd Players" List to seriously.

I know of a fiew people that have a clash of personalities with another person online, and yes i've even read posts claiming that the person they dont get along with is a "bad player" just to be mean. It is important to not judge someone till youve played and met them.

At the moment im not on the Bad players list, but its a scarey thing to think that just because one person doesnt get along with you they will throw you on some list.

I guess this post is just a reminder to people not to use the list for their own personal spite plez.

Yeah, I have only posted one person on the "bad player's list" for MPKing me then kicking me out of her party for no good reason, now she wont even talk to me O.o, and it seems that person is nice to practically everyone else. I wonder if maybe she doesnt like me for some reason?
Well anyway, remember that one person's encounter with another person, even if it is a very bad encounter, shouldn't lead anyone to Blisting that person, or calling them names, unless you have actually met them.

Hey, who really cares about those stupid lists? What it looks like to me is a bunch of people brown nosing each other, and trying to make a good name for themselves..

Granted, i am sure some of the people actually deserve to be on the lists, but I was actually put on the bad player alert list a while back(go figure) because of the whole astral ring incident..

When i log into the game, and i start making a party, and i see somebody who is on the bad players list, i dont go... oooo i better not invite them, because all the "cool" people say he/she is bad.. I mean, everybody has bad days, and people have good days too..

Seriously, dont worry about being on that list.. Most of the people that are dictating who are good and bad arent even level 60 yet. lol but level doesnt really matter.. Hell i am level 73, and i still do noob sh[Black][/Black]it all the time. Does it make me a bad player? NO Just because i bought alot of astral rings and sold them for profit does it make me a bad player? NO

Oh and if you havent noticed, The price of astrals did go up, and its not because of me! So for everysingle person who jumped on the bandwagon and threw rocks at me, guess it looks like none of it made any difference, and the price would have gone up even if i didnt buy them all when they were cheap..

Anyways, moral of the post is.. Dont worry about being on some stupid list that says you are a bad player.. Hell, i happen to know for a fact that 1 or 2 of the so "Praised" people on the good player list actually sucks, and doesnt help people when they need it, and will only help me at least when there is money involved..

anyways..

Peace.

Aerweny--I posted one person there too--for mpking me because he wanted his party to have a monopoly in the necropolis. (His party admitted it, won't go into the details though, but I'm 100% certain that's why he did it and that's what he was doing) I've even had friends in game rant about him mpking them before, and I had someone in my ls tell me he/she was a known mpker. But apparently, a lot of people on the boards seemed to like that person, and I ended up being the bad guy. >.> Never read that thread again since, and don't intend to read or post on it.
