Hmmm...
Those are very cool. I haven't heard if they are real or not either though.
I have been wondering if we were going to see some of the spells that have graced the other FF games though, like Reflect, Ultima and Confusion (or maybe even Toad).
Some of the status magic from the old game I don't think would work well considering the mechanics of FFXI, but it would be cool if it could.

I want some dark based offensive spells. Notice that we have offensive nuking spells in every element but dark? (blizzard, fire, earth, water, thunder, aero, holy)

Edit: And no. Drain/Aspir does not count as dark based offensive spells. I want pure damage offensive dark spells.

They say you can test upcoming spells by typing a /recast on them.

Phalanx II is there on recast. Can you imagine...Phalanx II.../drool.

Especially if we would finally be able to cast it on other players. All the Phalanx in the world is a bit of a waste when I'm not the tank.

Refresh II works too. >.>

What you see are spells that are coded into the game, but have either not been released yet, or are only used by mobs (Behemoths can use Meteor spells). All the person did was switch out the spell animations for existing spells to unreleased spell animations.

So, you could, if you know which files to switch, make your fire spell look like meteor, or your water spell look like flood II (if that was there, I forget). It's like switching your moogle around etc, only you would see it. I'm hoping that many of the spells there make their way to us at some point and not just mobs :D

There's a lot of them.

Offensive spells and -ga spells up to V.

Ancient Magic up to 2.

Protect/Shell and -ra's up to V.

Cure up to VI. Curaga up to V.

Phalanx and Refresh to II.

Holy II.

Tons of Bard songs: Foe Requiem up to VIII, Mage's Ballad up to III, Army's Paeon up to VI, most other songs up to V.

Utsusemi: San as well as San level ninjitsu everywhere else too.

Notice how Knights of the Round skillchain only does 100+ DMG, when the rumor goes that it does 9999+ DMG. Moogle swap trick for WS anyone?

Mmm...must try /recast Reflect

Can you imagine WHMs with Reflect? Having horrible AoE spells bounced back at the mob that cast em. Mmm.

All he's done is replace the animation files, its not the actual WS occuring.

Oh and from what I've read (not experienced) the weapon skills on that page are in the game already, but you need upgraded Dynamis weapons to use them (and I don't even know what those are, I'm only level 41 =/)

it sounds great, but remember AoE vs.Reflect from FF Tactics? as closely related to tactics/ff5 as this game is, i wonder if Reflect would calculate the angle of the mob to the WHM and reposition, rather than reverse, the AoE, possibly taking out another party that was camped too close?

this whole thing (seeing mob-only abilities, etc), and the reminder of FF Tactics makes me remember how mad i was (still am, really) that friggin Elmdor got to use Teleport 2 and my uBer squad of teleporting knight/mages never did.
