So has anyone "beaten" the game's storyline yet?

Just curious if there is an ending per say...

Every nation has their own storyline.. Anyone who is Rank 10 in any nation would have seen it all play out for that nation. That's why people change nations, they have finished everything for whatever nation they are Rank 10 in..

You seem to be disregarding the Zilart and Promathia missions.

By beaten I would presume you mean having reached rank 10 and cleared out all the expansion missions, Yuki.

I don't know that anyone has beaten all the Promathia missions yet. At the least I haven't heard of any NA players who have.

There are a many players however who have reached rank 10 and completed all the Zilart missions.

If you wanna know the "ending" or storyline to the game http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/final_fantasy_xi_history.txt

cut+paste the link in your browser, dunno why it wont work any other way. Makes for good reading also.

Oh yeah I completely spaced on that.. I just figured for some reason he was only asking about basic missions.. Thanks for pointing that out :P

Yeah, I have heard the San d'Oria storyline gets really good so you should be in for a treat, I don't think you want to have it spoiled for you, just watch it play out for yourself :P

I truely am a veritable half-way house of thread hijacks, a clearing house wherein tangential thoughts enter and leave and are delivered at the most unlikely of addresses with unerring speed and success.

Witness the following.

Hijack

Something which both surprised and delighted me about this game was that it contained not only more story than I expected but in fact contained a good story, set in a world with a deep history.

This is something of an uncommon occurance in MMORPGs, at least from my own personal experience with them (limited though it is).

I spoiled the story for myself at the very link Seriph posted, because I live for story not suspense and as such any effects of having something spoiled for me are rendered moot.

Realizing however that the majority of people are not such as I, able to withstand the gale-force winds of tempestual spoilers, I offer you this advice.

Do. Not. Spoil. It. For. Yourself.

Smiley: grinSmiley: grin

You can thank me later. ^^

P.S. I'm a big fan of FF stories too. ^^

Please note that at this time not all the PMs have even been released. The buzz is an area similar to the ZM {sky} that will be called {sea}, but hasn't been released yet. If you talk to various people within the Tavnazian Stronghold, you'll get further confirmation as they talk about their homeland which "sank into the sea".....

I don't see that as any confirmation at all that there will be an additional area called {sea}.

While I don't doubt that an area of a similar nature to {sky} will probably be part of the reward for beating all the PMs, I think {sea} would be a bit disingenuous.

I mean, call it {Sunken Tavnazia} at least! Smiley: tongue

I think the story is wonderful and am really excited about finishing the prom missions. I think Windy has the best story for me out of the three regular rank missions but that's just personal preference. Sky is just a nick name given by player, the in game name is Tulia. If there's a sea, it'll probably be named something else also.
