So what kind of music does everyone listen to?

remember these are opinions so no bashing please ^^

I listen to a smattering of everything from 80s music (when I grew up) to some modern stuff to the Beetles, to the Ramones, to ska, punk and j-pop/anime music and almost everything inbetween, I am not a huge fan of modern rap or country...some of the songs can be good though...

your turn

I'd like to say I'm a metal head, but it's not entirely true. I listen to a smattering of all types of music: classical, pop, country, metal, techno, electronica, what-have-you. I'll listen to it if it sounds good.

I can deal with everything but rap and country. Though I don't think I've actually bought a CD all year...

Edit. Yes, I have, since I bought the tour CD when I saw Sarah Brightman in January. She's amazing live. *.*

I'm a nineties brat, so I still listen to a lot of that; Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Machines of Loving Grace, Nirvana, Tori Amos, that sort of thing. I'm also something of a goth chick, so I have a lot of VNV Nation, Wolfshiem, Wumpscut, the more industrial-sounding music.
I like GOOD house music too, not the plinky rave stuff, but if it's nice and solid and has a good harmony to it I like it.

Also something of a lyrics nerd. If it has good lyrics, really good lyrics, I'll like it no matter how the song is sung. For that reason I like Counting Crows. ^^

I'm not real big on rap, aside from DMX and some Busta. HATE country music. I can't listen to it.

Other than that just about anything goes. I even like some madrigals and medieval choir arrangements, in particular the Miserere Dei, I can listen to that over and over.

So just about everything, other than country and most rap/R&B.

Euro pop, 70's rock hybrid type stuff like the Strokes, The Hives, The Vines, sometimes i listen to some annoying 80's music to get it stuck in my head and annoy others so they dont bother me while playing....^^

hard to say...even though Ive answered ths qestion a million times

hmm Ill start with what I dont like Country, mainstream Rap, R&B and Pop

Majority of what I listen to would fall into Metal, (classic)Alternative and Classic rock. I love industrial, but Ive always had a hard time finding good stuff that didnt get somewhat popular (Ill have to look up ome of those bands mentioned above). The little rap I listen to is either old school Beastie Boys/RunDMC type stuff or is somewhat comical. I dabble in a little techno, though I cant really tell the difference in the sub-genres and usually get tired of the repetitiveness pretty quick. Im always up for listening to something different/abstract underground stuff, like early SoaD, Dog Fasion Disco, Skindred(Raggae/Metal anyone?) Primus (which is currently in my cd player)

but what tops the cake is live music. I love going to see concerts especially at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, nice, small, much more personal venue.

and since were on this topic

Nirvana Box Set = {Yes, please}.

Wide-spanning tastes. Give me anything but pop, country, rap, and Polka.

Been listening to Our Lady Peace and Candlebox a lot lately. Just for variety.

Fionchadd, if you get a chance to see Sarah on her current tour, drop EVERYTHING and go - it was an amazing show, and I still get chills thinking about it. I want to say her FleetCenter show is one of the ones they filmed for the Harem concert DVD, so I'll be picking that up when I can for memories' sake.

And yes - Nirvana box set - {Yes, please.}

I've been listening to a lot of Live lately, and wishing I had more Counting Crows. Smashing Pumpkins are essential for me and I've been listening to them a lot, too.

Been listening to alot of Raffi. Also sharon, Lois and Bram and when I'm out driving I like to have The Wiggles going full tilt.

Occasionally when I get drunk I go completely mental and listen to Slipknot and the Spongebob Squarepants soundtrack at the same time.

Glad to see I'm not the only Primus fan on Bismarck.

And as for Dimebag, I agree. Rest in Peace, brother.

70's, 80's and early 90's. Pretty much everything after that is corporate manufactured no-talent BS. Want to know why CD Sales have slipped the past few years? Don't look at Kazaa.. look at the "Artists." Sorry for the little rant.

Right now I'm listening to "Dream On" by Aerosmith. I'm usually listening to 80's though because it makes me think of growing up and hearing it on the radio when it was actually the music that was popular at the time.

hmmm... did someone say cursive?!
Future, I have never seen you before, but I like you^^
Cursive has been my fav band for almost a year now, and for some strange reason I'm not sure if I will ever find a better band. Although I do enjoy some others such as...

The Used
Armor for Sleep
Brand New
Fugazi
Matchbook Romance
The Faint
The Cure
Modest Mouse
