So when the FFXI grind gets to be a little too much what games do you play to take a break?

Lately when I get frustrated with FFXI I play this game over at
http://www.battleon.com
It's a simple RPG but it gets the job done ^^.

I play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.
Great game to play while waiting for a party invite, in part because if/when I get an invite I can pause it and save it exactly where I stand, and it saves state so I don't miss a beat next time I pick it up to play. The free-floating properties of a single-player game is a nice break from FFXI.

When I'm not playing FFXI, I usually play one of the following games:

Good old Counter-Strike, and no, not that Source Engine crap they came out with -_-...

I haven't played Gunbound in eons, but I have that as well >_>

And pretty much, any console games that have recently come out which I havent beaten yet, such as Metroid Prime 2 (and Megaman X8, which I just beat within 3 hours of purchase).

I only play console games when I return home to my lovely 56k connection and refuse to endure the lag on my archaic laptop. Otherwise, my friend's PC and cable connection is on complete lockdown when I go over to his place =:R

Since I got FFXI... None.

Actually, now and then I'll play Galaga or Pac-Man on my PS2. I used to be really into the GTA games, but... not since FFXI.

I'm eventually going to finish my RPG backlog, which currently consists of Xenogears, FFVI (yes, I know, I fail at life) and if I can find a way to get rid of the motion sickness, Kingdom Hearts. Ursula's both difficult and stomach-churning. X.x

Nights, I'm a HUGE Lunar fan myself. Which are you on, Silver Star Story or Eternal Blue? ^^

Lately I've been all about the Myst series.

Which sucks because I've played them so many times I have every puzzle solution memorized.

I need Myst IV to curb my cravings but alas... no DVD-ROM here. Smiley: cry

I am currently playing the version of Silver Star on my Game Boy Advance. I have played both of the games for the Sega CD, and both of them on the Playstation. I have also played a pirated translated copy of Lunar Magic School for the Game Gear on my computer and am currently looking for the version of Lunar that came out on the Sega Saturn (in Japanese, but I still got to play it!^^)

Hehe, Lunar was what got me into role playing games in the first place. I read part of a walkthrough for Eternal Blue on the Sega CD waaaay back when it first came out in GamePro magazine (back when it was good). I wanted to play that game so badly...so when I saw it coming out for the Playstation, I jumped on it and got the game six months before I had a Playstation emulator. Played Silver Star Story on emulator, and Eternal Blue on a real Playstation. Then went back, and started to stalk down every version of the game I could find.

Lunar and .hack are the only two games that are as addictive as FFXI for me.

Hmm let's see...

I was an avid Counter-Strike player until FF.

Currently between work and FF I'm playing Star Ocean, finally beating Kingdom Hearts, and Halo 2 online.

As for BEFORE FF: I was not an RPG fan. Solely first-person shooters for me.

I also waste my time away at pogo.com

Bubble Bobble and Chip 'n Dale. >_>

What? Yes I still have my NES hooked up, and sometimes I have tons more fun playing these games. Old skool ROX!

...when I'm NOT stuck in the 80s, I'm usually playing Skies of Arcadia or SuperSmash Bros Melee. Someday I gotta beat .hack//Quarantine too.

Really, since I've bought FFXI, this is all I really play. I bought GTA: San Andreas, but couldn't really get into it. Now, I'm just waiting for the next Xenosaga to come out as well as the next FF.
