Right now I'm lvl 29 and im in Kazham with my flag up. I am bored out of my mind. So I was wondering what some of the sruff people do when they are LFG for a while.

I go through the equipment part of this site and look at stuff I can't have.

I have been lvling other jobs, it seems that people dont like to party on weekends. So what I have been doing is seeking for 1-2 hrs, if I dont get a party ill go lvl a low lvl job. I also farm while I seek party.

I dont know I am PLD 64 atm and it used to be so easy to find a party but now I dont know what is happening. Hope I hit 70 soon, but is a slow crawl there.

I go into this game knowing it's nothing more than a waiting game, so instead of just blankly staring at the chat log, hoping for "Randomperson invites you to his party," I just put my tag up and hook up my GameCube or SNES to the TV nearby and play another game.

...y'know now that I think of it...it's kinda sad that we waste hours praying to Altana that we get a party since we can't level on our own. I mean just the other day I spent 7 hours seeking as Warrior in the Dunes. Well I got all the way to Northtown in Secret of Mana so it wasn't a total loss. -_-

But I digress. Anyway, to pass the time, my suggestion is you invest in a Gameboy or another TV.

It takes an average of 3-4 hours for an invite to come my way, so whenever i feel a little tired in middle of my day or evening, i put up my flag then go take a nap. I usually come back just in time to catch my first invite of the day. Sort of afraid to go anywhere else in the game other than Jeuno while lfg cause it seems like no one knows how search for lfg people outside of their region.

Why is it taking so long to put parties together these days? I know part of it was people leaving when Everquest II was released and World of Warcraft came out of beta, but it takes ages these days...

Okay, end tangent. Since we've got 4/6 in a static, it's basically chit-chat in LS, /sea region, putter, lather, rinse, repeat.

I did a lot of fishing when I was looking for groups around the level range. Unless you're rank 5, it's too hard to move around to get the stuff for crafting (and unless the person doing invites is rank 5, they might not realize how quickly you can go from Windy to Elshimo). For fishing, though, I got to keep my job level, keep my flag up, and be in the right area so I could meet up quickly with the party.

I know how and its simple, its Party >> Find Member >> Search Results (its at the top above the 1st persons name) >> Area >> All Areas. There you have it. All people in the entire world lfg your lvl range. Simple as that. Just a little help for those who didnt know that.

While I'm LFG I am crafting and making things to sell for profit, you can tell how long I've been LFG because of the millions of gil I have in my Equipment ><

But my clothcraft is taking a lot of money lately so I'll probably start powerleveling my fisherman Talemont so I can get him his subjob. He's already gotten every teleport crystal (at level 14) so he's just about ready to be my Treasure Hunter 1 bot lol.

I've tried crafting, farming, fishing, NM camping, you name it... while my party flag was up.

However, I've been put off of doing so lately because I've noticed that as soon as I find a rhythm and things are going good, I get an invite and have to break said rhythm to join my party.

So lately, I've just taken to roaming around wanderous areas, seeing the sights and helping out any hapless ones that may need help. I've never been a gate guard, so there's an idea I should try out. It sounds like fun, and it'll probably give me a chance to meet some new people.

What this game *REALLY* needs is a way to specify LFP on a job (or jobS!) *OTHER* than the one you're playing as. I'd *LOVE* to be able to flag on THF43 while I'm out leveling RNG or something like that. I think implementing a solution like this would not only solve the waiting-for-fuc[/i]king-ever problem, but it might *ALSO* solve the blind invite problem to a degree! If you're in Giddeus farming birdies as a THF/NIN, and you're seeking on DRK and someone in Jeuno wants you, they can't invite you (because you're out of region), so they'd have to /tell you to invite.

I think the only downside of this idea is that some jobs may start getting *fewer* invites because of perceived or actual nerfs. You'd see more "perfect parties", which boil down to: PLD, RNG, RNG, RNG, RNG, WHM. But this wouldn't be a *totally* bad thing, as it'd exacerbate some of the inequalities between the jobs, and thus push Square harder to fix them.

Implementing this would be a good way to make up for Autogroup (which is useless).

(and while they're at it, how about a I-really-do-want-to-solo "flag" which prevents people from sending you invites?)

They say Dragoons don't get a job trait passed 50, Well...I'll tell you what. I got a secret passive skill at 55 "Resist Party".

I've never had to LFG from 50 on, Gotta love a set. ;x

That's odd, I was precocious with that skill; I picked it up at 30. Smiley: cry

So, one of these days after I get the pimp hat I'm probably going to go and level DRG solo for the most part, maybe an occasional party if one asks.

By the way, for anyone here that doubted the uberosity of a DRG, check this out: a Dragoon soloing the Sea Horror. When he defeats it, he levels up. ;)

I always seem to get invites, when I'm not looking, and when I am, I just sit forever ><

I hate irony!

well normally i never wait for like an hour.. Waiting that long seems retarded and pointless.. What i do is go get my craft skills up or just log out after or near 20 minutes with no parties...or give up and try and form my own. Choice number 3is highly recommened... Hope this helps you

Since I only seem to get invites when I am not looking for a party I do have a lot of time to burn. Sometimes I just sit in jeuno, go get something to eat, browse the computer, or watch TV. But the other 50% of the time I just go out and randomly explore since at anytime I can 2 hour warp. The best thing in this game is just wandering aimlessly in a random place.
