Suggest an NM that doesn't need Ranger for me.Follow

So since Stroper Chyme has been changed to pop ANYWHERE along the back hallway in Ordelle's, you can no longer reliably camp it without widescan. Which completely pisses me off because it USED to be really nice to not have to have a ranger sub to camp something with a valuable drop, but anyway. Help alleviate my irritation by recommending a new NM for me to camp. Please. ><

How about getting off you lazy *** and actually running the hallway every couple minutes to see if its popped. If they didn't change the (8minute?) pop timer then its even easier.

Wow, thanks for the violence, there, dude.

ANyone want to offer me something constructive?

By the way, the reason I don't do that is that all the rangers with widescan will beat me to it anyway. I used to like Chymes because the only thing you needed to try to get one was a fast finger on the voke button, and I personally found it fun to compete with so many people in a small space to see who could grab it the fastest. Same reason I like Hoo Mjuu. That's the type of NM I would like to camp. Has nothing to do with laziness, and thanks for that particular jab at my character when you know nothing about me. :) It's just what I consider to be fun.

Hawkeyed Dnatbat?

I dunno what kind of money/item/droprate you're looking for. I figure that, over time, camping Dnatbat is more profitable than camping Hoo, since the drop rate on the Signa is much lower, and with Dnatbat, you're at least guaranteed 20K regardless of whether you get the better or worse drop.

Honestly Byaina, as a ranger I have lost more NMs trying to widescan for them than I have by just wandering around. JEJ comes readily to mind.

Doesn't Bloodtear and Rampaging and Steelfleece all spawn in the same spots when they do?

I know most all the Yags in Giddeus stay put, the Golden Bat spawns in one spot too.

I say good luck to you and your hunts!

You can camp Hoo with a lvl 25 THF/WAR easily. I do it all the time and am fairly successful claiming him. Just smash Provoke after the 3 or 4 placeholders have been killed, they come back in about 8 to 10 minutes.

But the best idea (if you don't have RNG unlocked) is to take 15 minutes and unlock it (easiest quest ever). Even at a lvl 1 sub your Widescan should be plenty to camp VE effectively and several other mobs.

Argus has an extraordinarily small pop room, no need for Widescan, Mee Deggi only pops on that small platform (unless that has been changed), The Leech King has pretty small area, the Eastern Shadow has a pretty fixed area. There are many others but don't have the value items so Im not gonna waste time mentioning them. Its just a matter of excitement, really. These other mobs don't pop every 12 minutes so if patience be the issue, your kinda SOL.

I have ranger unlocked. I haven't leveled it. Most of my irritation comes of the fact that you "must" have at least one of three jobs to camp NMs effectively - WAR for voke (or monk for Chi Blast), THF for TH, or RGR for widescan. For most NMs for which I'd need Widescan, then, I'd have WAR/RGR and my WAR is only 32. Kind of limits what I can hunt - Stroper is definitely out of the question.

I want to hunt as a Samurai dammit. That's my job. I like it. /cry Oh well. Thanks much for your suggestions, guys. :)

Same reason you need certain jobs to do BCNM or port *****, every job was given something to make money with, camping is not the only thing. Same reason I can't go camp stropher chyme effectively.

People I know had good luck with thief/ranger using steal to pull.

I usually hunt as RNG/THF or RDM/THF, using Dia to pull. Is your THF leveled sufficiantly to put under SAM? just curious...

The morion worm exist, it's a forced spawn, so you can hunt it as a Sam/thf.

The downsides is that there is 6 possible spawn point organised by clusters (2 of 6 per spot), you need an iron ore to trigger the spawn and it's heavily camped by gilfarmers ; ;. On the good side, it's a 15 minutes spawn and you can kill gigas/jelly while waiting

But it's still a good spot, I remember making 174k in 4 hours there when the angels weren't there for some reason.

2 Morion thantlhum : 120k (60k each)
15 Gigas sock : 30k (2k each)
4 stack of oil slime: 24k ( 6k each)

Of course, I know a was a bit lucky and it won't always be like that but it's worth trying. You still can get a worm, since the gilfarmers aren't very fast sometime and they are only 5 ( they can't cover EVERY spot and someone must camp 1 cluster alone( got a worm under Roseangel's nose that way)).

Anyway, that's my 2 cents

On a slight update, I feel like a jerk complaining about the Chymes because they still are a hell of a lot of fun to camp. Myself and Kumajiro got every spawn for about an hour and a half, with a few exceptions, because people didn't seem to understand the new spawning rules, or they just weren't in the right place at the right time. THe drop rate's still as bad as ever, unfortunately.

Thanks for all your suggestions, guys. I really appreciate it.
