So it looks as though the prices of the Sniper's Rings and the Ochiudo's Kotes are plummeting bigtime.

Last night I managed to beat out a few gil sellers to the Mee Deggi claim and I happened to win the Ochiudo's Kote:

So I go back to the AH and notice there's about 22 Kotes in stock. I've never seen it that high, and the prices were going for 990,000 and as low as 835,000. It looked to me as if a huge undercutting was about to take place, so I listed mine at 775,000. I figured that should easily get them sold, but I wake up this morning and notice that they did not sell. I look at the price history again, and they are down to 700,000. I changed my listing to 625,000 because there were still 17 in stock. I hope it sells before it goes down to like...400,000.

Also, last night, I looked at the price of the Sniper's Rings just for kicks. The price for them was also plummeting from 700,000 all the way down to 480,000. There were still 15 in stock, so I can only imagine that price is going to continue to fall.

Don't get me wrong, even though I'm trying to sell my Kote, I'm happy that the price is going down. If that means the gil sellers make that much less gil, I'm all for it. I happened to notice a significantly lower number of gil sellers while camping in Oztroja. Redcloud, Coless, Bmoboss, and Smiledd were still in there, but I didn't see any of the other regulars that never seemed to even leave Oztroja.

I have to admit, my confidence in this game's survivability was really boosted in the past week.

I'm pretty sure the drop in prices are due to the pre-patch fears that these items will become obsolete. It's kinda like getting inside information in the stock market and yelling SELL SELL!

It's kind of funny that SE didn't even have to patch new items to get this type of reaction. Just the threat of patching new items was enough to get people all jittery :P Shows ya how close this economy mirrors a real economy.

It'll be interesting to see how this works out and what items they actually introduce.

Edit: Oh and good luck selling that thing. I know a lot of people that are putting off any major purchases until the patch. Which sucks because I still have some BCNM stuffs I need to unload -_-

Don't forget about what happened to the Jerrys, perhaps it may have at least partly to do with that.

i think the banishing of the Jerrys, combined with yesterday's
announcement, may have sent some people into a panic, those that
may have been hoarding Sniper's Rings (buying low, selling high),
and a few decided to get rid of their stock. I believe they are
back up to about 55o,ooo now, though. ><

Even though the Jerry's are gone, it seemed like the Love group got the most Stroper Chyme claims. Is Loveri, Love* and Halenry still down there in Ordelles?

Yes, the prices are going down because of the December patch scare. Some people fear that the Kote and Archer's Rings may go rare/ex. I don't think that will happen though, because there are probably quite a few people with multiple Kotes and Archer's Rings - and instead of gil sellers having a monopoly on the Sniper Ring market, high-level leathercrafters will (unless SE allowed the Archer's Rings to be traded - in that case you could find a high-level leathercrafter and pay him/her a fee to synth you the Sniper's Ring.) In any case, the market is going crazy right now.

So the Sniper's Rings are back up to 550,000 now eh? Looks like people saw that they were going for 4xx,xxx and said "BUY BUY BUY!" You can't blame them though, that price looks a lot better than the prices as of late. Hopefully SE decides to create more ACC+ items from BCNMs or other methods that gil sellers certainly will not succeed in.

Yes Magvius What the hell happened to that Gluttony Sword, Enubis was kind enough to send me 200,000 gil as a friendly welcome back gift(I quit for 3 months). I went and threw 260k on the AH and got a Gluttony Sword, then a mere 2 days later I saw that Gluttony Swords had gone up to 450k ( I dont know the price now). What the hell was that about, I kinda lucked out and the sword really means a lot to me so I wont be selling it now, if ever.

ya my bro checked it and it got up to 600k. He was like "more than half a mil for my glut sword." And the thing is the price jump in a weeks time.

I heard about the Sniper's Ring dropping in price last night and almost wanted to put my head through the wall, considering I bought the thing for 530K, and it dropped down to 400K. All I know is I hope the price stays low, because I need to grab my second one. -_-

Then again, who the hell knows what new items SE will be throwing at us.

Price for snipers is going up again. when I checked last night they we're going for 550k.
I would think with the gil farmers being filtered out things are going to become more expensive. Simply because less of the item (i.e sniper rings) are available. Oh well more farming for me then. I have 145k saved now I just need 405k more for a sniper if the price managesto stay that low. ;_;

Heh. Considering PLD is one of the cheaper jobs to level and the Gluttony Sword is one of, if not the best swords for PLD, I'd say that PLDs can afford to either suck it up and save like most jobs, or they can be gimped. I probably pay more per 5 levels than PLDs do to get to 40/50, and I never ***** about money. Having to buy 50-60k weapons every 10 levels and buying arrows, bullets, bolts, and shihei isn't exactly cheap. ;P

Gluttoney Skull is a trigger pop NM, I don't think the sword will be included in that patch. Prices hovered around 400k for quite a while.
