I think everyone knows me by now. Either way I'm flattered.

Yes, I watched 50% of my LS go to Wow, it is crazy.

This can mean a couple things, some of the big name LS on the server like Lunarians and Iron will go into a recruiting stage.

Parties will become harder or easier to find.

Harder because last night when I did a /search all 32-35 inv at NA prime time, I came up with 5 people, one of which was a Galkan BLM with an underleveled sub.

Easier because less people means you have to take what you can find and not be too picky so us Melee may finaly see an increase in invites.

Harder because the majority of players leaving for Wow are NA, and a lot of JP don't exactly welcome NA unless were a BRD, WHM, BLM RDM.

(Note, this was slightly racist, but not my intention. I've put my flag up for hours with MNK and never got a JP invite. I put up my flag as a BRD and 5 minutes later get {Party}?)

But I'm here to stay. I'm playing EQ2 on the side, but it just isn't as clean and fun as FFXI.

Yeah sorry for your loss man, I like HNM LS's even though I am too low to be in any of them yet (62 PLD atm), actually you forgot PLD JP love us. If I am up after 1 am est I will get JP invites even if my flag isnt up.

About the other games taking ppl. I was trying to start a party at the dunes last night to lvl my NIN and was very hard to get people also and this was during NA prime. Well I hope we keep quality players since the quantity is dropping, even though quality players have left. Oh well hope you refill your ranks.

Actualy, I'm not leaving FFXI for Wow. It is about half my LS that is.

When talking to Dante, he told me him and a few of his friends were in their home town just buying some gear when all of a sudden, someone came running in screaming "OMG RAID"

At this point about 10 higher level players came running in and PvP a bunch of people. Finaly Dante and some friends grouped together and fought off the invaders.

They told me after that they were hooked.

Personaly, PvP to me sounds like something that will be taken advantage of big time, and I don't think it would be as enjoyable. So I'm sticking with FFXI.

I dont know but I live in NYC, and a couple of weeks ago I saw this article about MMO addiction and spoke about a guy that committed suicide over a bad EQ transaction. If I ever got into a raid and lost my scorp harness and vermillion cloak (example, as I cant afford these), I would quit the game.

I know people that are so addicted that they might go into a deep depression. Just imagine high level gilsellers that killed people for their items and cash. Hell no SE is my friend as they are gamer friendly for the most part at least.

Sorry to hear that you're losing members singular :(

What little I've played of WoW failed to impress me. Compared to ffxi it's very accelerated, and with the classing system like your traditional MMO, the only way to change classes is to make a new character.
PvP is just another gimmick to make players interested. I use to play a MUD that is heavily PvP based, and people would camp their high level players outside a zone and quit so they could level their low level character and log in in case someone showed up. I forsee the same thing happening in WoW.
It also seems incredibly accelerated. My neighboor played it almost as much as I play FFXI for the duration of one of the betas, and he was post level 30 in that time (I believe a week and a half). Where's the fun in that, let's all get high levels so we can pwn some nubs... oh wait the nubs are all high levels too.
Lastly, if it's anything like most blizzard products, anytime there is an imbalance in the game, I'm sure they'll introduce some drastic patch that makes another aspect of the game compeltely uber... anyone who played Diablo 2 / Lord of Destruction should know what I mean.

So World of Warcraft? {No Thanks.}

Ahh the infamous EQ suicide.

As I recall, that was almost 2 years ago.

The story, as it was related to me, was that this particular young man had been befriended by a higher-level player. These two became fast friends, and were often playing together.

Then one day the high-level player PK'd this guy, took all his stuff, etc.

It's so vicious it actually makes me wonder if perhaps the player in question had quit the game and sold his account to someone. Then Murphy's Law and bad luck set in.

o.O Hi Sing! I just freaked out when I saw my name on a thread, heh. I'm doing okay, I was away from the game for two weeks thanks to family stuff and work but I'm rollin' back along again. How goes it with you? Sorry to hear your LS is clearing out. :/ But dare I say it, it seems like some of the people leaving for WoW are people we don't really mind having gone. Just my opinion from knowing some of the people who have gone, anyway...

Well, some of the people going to Wow were my friends for a long time. One of the kids going was 1/2 running the LS during his prime time, not that he did much, but it was nice to have help.

I think the shell needed to clear out a little anyway. When you have a LS, friends are more likely to help friends. But when you are in a shell with 20 people you hardly know, you may as well be shouting for help in Jeuno.

I'm just sad to see (Some) of these people go..

Meh, linkshells. Everyone knows it's next to impossible to find a good one that stays good for any extended period of time. Sorry some of the good people left, not so sorry the bad ones did, heh.
