***Disclaimer: True to my usual posting habit, this thread on a simple topic is going to be long-winded and wordy beyond belief. I can't ever say anything without a sufficient level of magnaminous phrasing. Not even a simple disclaimer intended to say "Long post"***

Truth be told, I hate these kind of threads.

Perhaps not hate, but I'm always leary about peeking in on them. Sometimes they are worthwhile (such as the one I recently bumped) in that friendship and community is affirmed.

Other times it strikes me more like someone looking for an LS they can mooch off of.

Perhaps that's just due to my own personal LS experiences shading my perspective.

I have been playing since April and have yet to find an LS home. Not so much because of bad experiences but either due to unresolvable personality differences, irredeemable level gaps, or differentiation of goals.

And now it seems that my own LS, TeamHyperJustice, has suffered a true death.

I've been hesitating for a while, pondering whether or not I would post this. The purest way in which to join an LS is to simply be invited to one by a long-time friend or a recent party member impressed with your prowess in battle.

But at the end of the day, I've decided to post this request because I want to be more discriminating than that.

I am looking for a new LS to call home. And I am picky, which is another reason I think I've had difficulty finding one in which to stay long.

Here's what I'm hoping for, listed in no particular order:

1. Size: I'd like to be in an LS of reasonable size. 25+ members.

2. Level range: Despite having been playing since April, I've yet to reach any particularly high level. My highest level on any character and job is lvl 30 (which delvled to 29 and never recovered). I'd like to be in an LS with a host of levels, from the lowest on up, the more evenly spread the better.

3. Forum: I'd really like to be in an LS with its own, fairly active, online forum. I've always thought this was a terrific idea with a wide variety of uses, but have never been in an LS with any interest in one.

4. A focus on helping: I like to help other people. With my job levels as they are, I very rarely get the opportunity, but such as I am able, I like to help others accomplish goals. With a few exceptions, I'm not a big fan of getting higher level help myself, but I would simply feel more comfortable in an LS wherein generosity was a byword.

5. A focus on varied group activities: It's sort of like throwing a party to go and do things as an LS, whether serious like garrison runs, eco, BCNM, or goofiness and just plain horsing around like group suicides in town, just to get strange looks.

6. Respect: This is key. Anyone whose visited the Flame Thread will know I have no problem with swearing. But as some other threads have shown I do have a problem with being rude and mean, snotty, flaming, etc. Tempers flare, and I know this, but I don't want to be part of a community where being nasty is a common trend. One LS I was in had a number of members who were like this, whether because they just enjoyed being bullies, or felt any question about the game deserved derision.

Picky picky I know. But at this point I'm just tired of bouncing from one LS to another looking for a home.

(Just so I'm not accused of being fickle, this bouncing process is fairly slow. I was a member of my last LS before THJ for 4 months before I finally parted with them.)

So. Open request and application to anyone interested in adding another member to their LS rouster.

Tell me a little about your LS, point me to your online forums so I can lurk for a bit and get a feel for the community, if that's something you're comfortable with, perhaps have some conversation with me via PM or /tells in game (I'm currently on Freedomfries almost exclusively)to determine whether or not you think I would be a good fit for your LS, and we'll see what comes of it.

Thank you in advance for again tolerating my rambling way of talking about the simplest of concepts, and also for tolerating yet another one of these threads.

Hey Nata, We're kinda small (new LS) but we're trying to grow, and I believe, us that are in the LS are looking for the same things as you.

We all have jobs that span the levels, up to 40 anyways. I've been here from the beginning, graciously invited by the LS owner Braewyn, and so far I'm really happy with it. We try to help each other when we can and chat alot when off on our own.

If you want a trial run, no problem, we'd be happy to let you put us through the wringer :).

Just send a /tell to me or Braewyn and we'll gladly hook you up with a pearl.

oh yes, and tell yer friends. :)

This also goes for anyone reading this thread. We'd be happy to have you. We only request that new inductees have a desire to have fun, whilst checking immaturity at the door. We want this to be a healthy LS with members that want to be here for each other as well as themselves.

And, Nata, Good Luck on your search. This is my third LS and I think I'm finally able to call an LS home. You'll find one too.

In response to the anonymous rate-down.

Now was that really called for?

If you want to rate me down, fine, but by god have some balls and post why you've done so.

Just like to add to GaranTheElvaan's post about our new LS.

I will be creating a website / message board for our LS soon, so we can keep in touch out of game as well as in game. I've never been in a LS that has had one. I think it'll be really helpful and fun!

As stated, just send Garan or myself, Braewyn a /tell in game and we'll hook you up with a pearl. Hope to hear from you.

Our ls is not as big as you specified but we are a pretty tight knit group of people. We have a wide range of levels from 1-63 and we also try to help others. The ls website is LiberationLeague. You have to register before you have full access to the forums. If you feel like you wanna try us out send /tell to me, Eaureubond, or Maxse. (Or anyone with the officer desgination in the Members section of the Forum) We will be more than glad to give you a pearl. I should warn you though that maturity is not one of our strong suits...we are by no means rude or condescending but we tend to goof around a lot. Hope your search leads you to a good home ^^

I appreciate the positive feedback and invitations.

I am most likely going to deliberate this for a while. Do some lurking, etc.

Perhaps I'm taking this too seriously, but I really don't have any desire to have to make another of these threads ever again. 7 months into the game, it's about time I settled down, you know?

Again, thank you for the info and invitations. Smiley: grin

Lol and Jibe, I never noticed the quote in your sig before.

Now I'm gonna have to watch Galaxy Quest again to get it out of my head. Smiley: tongue

But that's a good thing. ^^

ive been playing this game since march and i seen so many LS come and go. it seems that ever Ls i get invited to ether is too high lvl to even help me r too weak. instead of running around looking for a good LS you should carry 2 LS r more. one high lv 30-up and a lower one 1-29. this way u can always have wide aray of friends and people to help out with quests. u should get to lvl 40 before u settle down with a Ls. but then again am a lvl 50 rdm without dispel so i wouldent even take my advice.

I'll add StercusApperuit to the list. We're fairly large (though not all of our members have a pearl after our old leader trashed UnchainedSpirits >.>) with around 40+ members, and around 10-15 people on at once. A few post here. I'm one of the sack holders, as well as Noxx, Yekan, and vOrophin (Ishido). Go ahead and come to our forums and post if you'd like. Non-LS members are welcome there, though you'll only be granted access to the general and mission forums. We organize group activities like Promyvion, BCNM, AF quests, Genkais, etc. We're also starting to experiment with Ventrilo and TeamSpeak, which we've found is really cool. Anyway, the link to our forums is in my sig, and to get a pearl just ask one of us four some way. (Forums, AIM, MSN, FFXI, etc.) We'd be happy to have you on board.
