Hey does anyone else on here use TeamSpeak?

If so what do you mainly use it for?
My friends and I use it when we are in party together.
It moslty explains why, if any of you have ever partied
with Jnag, Evilpickles or Zander, we are so quiet.
Don't worry we don't make fun of you too much when we
group up with you all j/j >;P.

Anyway what do you guys use it for if at all?

i know what you have been doing, you know who you are, violating our server like that, get a room!! lol

My LS is actually trying to all get either Ventrilo or TeamSpeak. We had the idea really late last night (or early this morning o.O) of using that for easier communication. Only problem is that Ventrilo, which we looked at, can host 8 people at once. So uh, that's not really an option. Anyone have something like this that can support a crapton of people?

My LS used to use Teamspeak, but after we got a few more people on, we switched to Ventrillo. Vent is soooo much better, the quality is better, and the interface is just...better!

It's a fun time talking while doing coffer key parties and stuff. <3 everyone in my LS.

Currently we're borrowing some space from my clan.
Their server costs 15/month and supports up to 50 players.
http://www.ventrilo.net/

We started off on Teamspeak, but I quickly got sick of the sound quality (I have been using Vent for close to a year) so I decided to try and push everyone over. It's a hell of a lot better, and doesn't consume too much more bandwidth.

Our typical banter range from drunken insults, insults, insults using Microsoft Sam's lovely voice, and long strings of profanities at whatever party we may be involved with.
I believe we usually see 10-15 people a night on there.

my set party has been using team speak for a couple months now, but we recently made it open access to anyone in the ls, usually only about 10 people though that ever get on it.

Ventrilo is really nice. I've been using it for about a year and the sound quality is very nice. It's particularly helpful to people that are in your party, because saying stuff over the mic is a lot faster than having to type it all out. It's very easy to notify everyone of pops, adds, or anything like that. I host my own server so it's free for me =)

I'm guessing that those of us on PS2 are pretty much screwed as far as access unless we have a computer sitting right beside us. Correct?

My former linkshell had a teamspeak server that we'd all jump on.

And when we'd actually manage to get a linkshell party going it was actually quite fun.

I saw it mentioned in my new linkshell but we don't have any such thing implimented at the moment.

I hear really good things about Ventrillo though, as mentioned by other posters, that the sound quality is better.

Semi-correct, Garan. ;x
It works fine if you have a PS2 USB mic with a mute button and maybe an extension cord or two. <.<
My computer and PS2 are side-by-side so in order to use Push-to-Talk I'd have to play on an angle and I hate that. So I put it on voice activated, turned down the activation volume a bit, and just turn off mute to say something from the comfort of my chair a few feet away. XD
However, there's still the problem of people taking the computer. Some people seem to hate having other peoples' programs open while on the computer, so I get "randomly" booted from TS/Vent. XD

Okay, but what if your computer that is sitting beside your PS2 (as in my case) is a Mac, are any of these programs available for OSX. I'd really hate to have to change to Linux to run these. :(
