DUMB things you have done.Follow

OK Time to admit your foibles.

I saw this in another forum and figured we could use one here.

We've all done or said something stupid while playing, and it's time to let it out. Tell the world, "Hey, I had a rookie moment."

So what are some of the stupid, noobish, or just plain funny things that you have done as a result of lack of sleep, pilot error, lack of judgement or whatever.

I'll start us off.

I am a victem of a faulty targeting system.
While partying in the dunes with my WHM I cured a mob. Twice. The result of which was a dead PLD who had a couple of good laughs at my expense.

The next time it happened was in Yhoater with my RDM. Puller brings back a White Lizard, and half way through the fight I notice Dia wear off. So I recast.
Tank - "OMFG link!"
me - "WTF"
Tank - "Who aggro'd it?"
Scan the log.
me - *********** that was me, Mistarget."
Tank - "RUN"
Result, three dead.

YOUR TURN :)

Well this was a long time ago but It still makes me laugh..

Way back when I was doing rank 3, we just finished killing the Windy dragon and returned to Windy to finish up before heading back to Sandy.

We got a tele Holla and it was perfect cause we had 5 in our party.We all paid the teletaxi guy and he tele us all to Holla...well all but me..I was like wtf..they asked if I had the crystal and I said of course, I have earth, water and fire crystals, why? Thye said ..No..The holla crystal and I was like whats that?

The teletaxi guy came back and returned my 500g which was cool but man was I pissed and feeling n00bish. Anyways, I got a chicken and rode back back to Sandy.

This happened just the other week. I was in the dunes running back to Konstacht Highlands when I get a tell asking for a Warp II. He was in Selbina so I tell him to run over to Konstacht Zone and I'll hook it up. He comes over and I start casting WarpII next thing i know, I'm in Jeuno. I forgot to target him ^_^ We both had a good laugh, but I felt like such a dumbass =P

lol, it wasn't that bad :P Coming from a whm who ***** up so little I can't even remember another time, I don't think you get to let that count!

Mine was leveling blm in the Dunes. At that point I was SO used to thf and war (being the only two other jobs I had ever played at the time, except a couple of solo levels on whm to sub) that I would constantly (not on purpose) engage the mob when it came back to camp :P *swish* spoon *swish* Oh. whoops. I'm not a thief. ><

Aside from that, I'm just a link-happy puller is all ><

I was once leveling smn in Yhoater Jungle and my pt just invited our 6th member. We were waiting at camp and there was a lizard at the camp that was obviously annoying.

I was going to /tell someone in my pt but I was targeting the lizzies by mistake. Instead of hitting chat like i thought i did, i hit attack >.<

So i smacked the lizzie with my staff and my pt was so confused. Only the Pld died and she wasnt mad about it so I was relieved.

Also, another dumb thing i did was I once bought 1 ice crystal for 1.5k (thought i was buying the stack) :P

I was lvl 25 or so with my main before i realized i could get Signet in the dunes at the outpost at times.

When it wore off, and i needed to go back...i just kept running back to Sandy.

I have a screenshot of it. Anyway, I had just finished ZM4(Zilart Mission 4, What a ***** that was.) and I decided to run off to behemoth's dominion because they were talking about headstones and fragments...Here's what happened:

another dumbass move done in the jungle..and this was recently. I was lvl'n my smn and i had just done my MB with Shiva on the onion when all of a sudden I notice on my screen that I was getting beat on by a white lizard...My first thought was ****...did I do an AoE attack? After I did a face plant I checked and noticed that I never Blizzard 2'd the Onion at all, I had cast it on the White Lizard. I ragged Shiva out for that one.

Another time i was in Gustav Tunnel and we we're getting killer exp and next fight i was gonna lvl. So I decide to blow my MP pool and try to finish him off with a Banish2. Well, instead of Banish2 I selected banishga2. Well, I died, never lvl'd and we all left ><. I think every white mage has done a -aga blunder once or twice.

my dumb moments have mostly been mistargeting. i've done it twice...

once in Qufim, i targeted a leech by mistake and hit it with Dia, the thing went nuts, teamed up with another leech and starting wailing on us. I don't remember anyone dying, we zoned into the tower, but they were pissed. I, still being a newb, tried to play it off "damn, everything aggros like crazy around here." lol. kinda like falling and getting up REAL quick hoping nobody saw you eat dirt.

the other time was in Yhotoar (sp?). Accidentally poisoned one of them badass lizards. fortunately, i don't think anyone died that time either, well, i did.. haha. no one else though.
fortunately everyone was really understanding. at that point my newbness had faded and i fessed up and apologized right away for my misfire. I actually made a couple friends from that party that I kept for a long time. it pays to fess up! lol


OH.. i rememered another dumb thing i did... I was in the Dunes, brought along an Instant Warp Scroll with me. I was partying in the dunes for quite a few days, so I lost track of stuff kinda... I decided to wrap up my leveling and head back to Sandy... I fire off my Warp Scroll... and off i go.... and suddenly... I'm still in the dunes! WTF?! I had forgotten I set my homepoint at the zone into Konschtat. I warped myself approximately 5 feet from where I was standing. LOL. lost my warp scroll, AND i gotta walk all the way now. That one hurt. ;\

I was partying in Crawler's Nest as a whm. We were going deeper in to fight beetles, crawlers and the occasional scorpion. We were doing really great! Then I was casting dia on the mob.....well I atleast I thought it was the mob. Turns I out I cast on a caveberry. Yeah. My party was dead in like 1 minute. I felt so dumb , but everyone laughed and we got raises. My RL fiance was in the party at the time so now when every we go there he always says "Remember caveberry = death".
