Decided to Send an E-mail to the Root of the Gil-SellingFollow

I'm not sure if anyone has sent a letter to IGE's legal department, but tonight, after reading all the posts here about gil sellers ruining OUR game, I decided to send them this letter:

To who this may concern:

I am a legit player on the MMORPG game Final Fantasy XI.

For the past several months employers from your company and others have turned this incredible game into a mess because they have been runining OUR GAME.

The reason: Your employers constantly camp monsters for high value items like Archer's Rings, Ochiudo's Kote, etc.

Ever since they have come, they have been MPK'ing legit farmers, harassing other players who compete against them (both which are against the Terms of Service for FFXI), and driving up the prices on high value items by hundreds of thousands of gil.

Buying and Selling of Gil is strictly prohibited under the ToS in FFXI

This is part of the FFXI ToS that most legit players like myself agree, companies like yourself are blatently violating.

You may not use the Game or PlayOnline for any activities that are illegal, fraudulent, or a violation of the rights of any third party. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following acts and activities are strictly prohibited and shall, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies that SEI may have, be cause for immediate termination of your PlayOnline account and your right to play the Game (or any other services) in connection therewith:

(a) Any activities consisting of selling, purchasing or exchanging “gil” or any other currency that may be used in the Game from time to time, characters, and/or Game items for value (including, but not limited to, any payment in kind and any payment in any currency recognized as legal tender in any country, state, territory or other jurisdiction anywhere in the world) through any means or venue, including, without limitation, Internet auctions or other online exchanges;

No excuse you might say about this part of the ToS will satfisy me or other players.

While we have to pay the inflated prices for high-valued items, your workers and your company make more money because we have to pay the inflated prices or people have no choice to buy gil from your sites.

Myself along with thousands of North American, Japanese, and European players are pissed off because you guys are ruining a great game with your underhanded tactics.

While other players have decided to fight back by stealing mobs your workers target, and have even MPK'ed your worker's characters in the game. I'm writing to you, the root of the source of the problem.

We do not want you in this game, we were fine without you guys and we will be fine without you in the future.

What I'm trying to say is... GET OUT OF FFXI and do not return.

Sincerly,

(My RL Name): Which I won't post on here ^^
Proud Player and one of many who does not buy gil from your or other companies.

Before anyone asks, I thought of who to send the e-mail to, but I couldn't decide where to direct my letter to, so I decided to send it to their legal department.

I have read threads on here, that gil-sellers have told people they have worked for IGE and other companies.

I'm already looking forward to their response, and I'll post it on here, as soon as they reply to my e-mail.

It'll be intresting to see what they have to say

IGE does not officially "hire" the gill sellers, it's more of an informal contract sort of thing.

As with many businesses, they are only concerned with the net profit at the end of the year. Just because people are getting pissed does not mean they are going to go out of business.

That's like saying to Wal-Mart "well, I don't like they way you run your business, and it's really hurting my family's small business, can you plaease close all your stores".
It's simply not going to happen, they don't care.

You may not want them in this game, I sure as hell don't want them here, but there are people on this server that buy from them and do want them. As much as it may hurt some of you people, Allakhazam community does not equal the final fantasy xi community. Believe it or not, some people don't think like the rest of you.

Better to try, than never try at all, even it is futile.

I know I won't make a change, but at least I decided to make a stand for what I believe in.

And for that, I am pleased with myself, regardless of the outcome.

It's like prostititution, as long as there is somebody willing to spend money on it, someone is gonna be willing to sell it.

So, I have a suggestion. I'm sure not many people will ADMIT to purchasing gil online, but I know some have. There are plenty of 15 yr old Eric Cartmans out there with their mommy's credit card who are too dumb to keep a secret.

Perhaps we go to the source of THE REAL problem, the purchasers. If you find the name (and I don't mean he said she said bullshit, but fact) of anyone who has admitted to buying gil, post it for them to be scorned, ridiculed and never helped again with a single solitary task as a lesson to all...you buy gil online you will not be tolerated. If nobody buys, they don't make any money...then they go away. Simple economics.
