You did fine because at your level not enough of the other jobs have those wonderful uber damage dealing toys they like to spam so much. I've seen war tanked fine all the way up 40ish but ofcourse if faced between war/nin and ninja or paladin at that level I'll pick the latter 2. One single war/nin can keep hate fine againts mobs that are on the lower end of his exp level after AF body and fare reasonably well against slow hitting mobs, but really, only became most effective after 74

We tried having war/nin tank in the very early 60's in the Valley and it didn't work out too well cause Peryton rip them to shreds. However, against Toramas he did fine. After the Torama trip, my war friend went all the way not tanking till 70 when he again did fine in Kuftal againts tigers and coctrices. I don't know if this is an oxymoron that I'm saying but I think its most effective if you have war/nin tank to include alot of damage dealers in party like ranger and blmgs. According to my experience, when fighting with mobs at the lower spectrum of our Levels (low ITs), war/nin with AF3 keep hate fine and party can be very good as long as fights are short (the reason for the nukers)

I know some will say that with uber damages from other members that he'll have problem keeping hate but in my experience, it work out fine if fights are short. Plus after 60 alot of melee tend to sub thief so they can also help the war keep hate without needing a thief in party.

I meant to say, as a damage dealer, War/Thf makes a War/Mnk obsolete. War/Thf wouldn't offer anything to tanking, because .. obviously you wouldn't be able to use sneak attack + WS.

heh ok ok, at higher lvls i wouldnt want a war/nin tanking that much either unless it was a slow mob like a beetle or something. But at those higher lvls war/nin becomes a great dmg dealer, the dmg over time is pretty nice and hand axe weapon skills get good as well. But overall I would sub ninja for a war over thief, but thats my personal opinion.
