Ok.. as everyone know they love FFXI.. they play it upon hours and hours to level and get their next uber item
But everytime i go on POL viewer there is this annoying little button underneath the FFXI in the game selection call tetramaster.
I realize this game was widely popular in FFIX and was a distraction from hardcore missions and quests but now it's just an annoying button i hit accidently that takes 30 seconds away from getting into the game.
If they integrated it in the game itself it would of been cool but right now it's annoying
Anyways mindless rant.. does anyone even play it?!

I don't like Tetra Master, I didn't like it in IX at all. It's too random. Even when a card seems like a sure win, it just might lose. No strategy involved. Not to say Triple Triad was much better in terms of strategy, but at least there was no randomness (outside of the Random rule, of course, but you can remove that). And even better, the cards could be turned into useful items. TT truly was the better of the two.
I see people on my friend list playing sometimes. I won't though. Just don't like it.

I love TetraMaster.
I personally think it is soemthing different from the everyday stress of FFXI and the gil-seller soap opera that goes on in it.
My biggest problem though is the fact that almost everyone else who plays it is ages 10-14, and so at times it is impossible to have an intelligent conversation about anything there.

But I really like the in-game music...and it is a relaxing thing to do while doing homework.
The random factor does play a role in evening out the odds. I have beaten a player ranked higher than me before based purely on the luck factor.

I didn't like Tetra Master at all in IX.
If Squeenix had set up Triple Triad instead, though, I'd be all over it. I loved it, and collected the cards for a little while when they were selling them. It was pretty fun to play offline - especially when you had friends standing around to provide the background music. XD
