Here's a shot in the dark idea.

Similar to the chain help thread, I thought it might be interesting to have something similar, but geared more toward exploration and adventuring.

So here's the plan.

List places you want to see but haven't yet, or adventures you've wanted to have but haven't ever gotten the chance.

And we'll see if we can help each other go out and have some fun, see new places.

Like the chain help thread, all it means is that you should try and make yourself available to help others see new places and have adventures.

I've always wanted to see Zi'tah, and Wintaru has been kind enough to offer to take me there, so that's a start.

As far as adventures goes, I've always wanted to see how far into Xarcabard you could get with a lvl 1 character, no sneak/invis, before getting stomped on. =P Be hard to even GET there, but what the hell, why not. ^^

What have you always wanted to do?

I've always wanted to see/mine Ifrit's Cauldron.

Preperations are underway, but the progress is slow. I WILL do it one day, but I wouldn't mind a small tour of the place by a fellow miner to show me the ropes. Death = OK! ^^

I would like to see all of the CoP areas. I'm sure I'll get to see all the higher level XP areas as my group get's higher in levels, but in the mean time there are many CoP zones I've yet to go to. Like Carpenter's Landing. I have no freaking clue how to get there, maybe through Jugner?

Also, I would be willing to take anyone who is above level 20 to see Zi'tah, or if you want to run to Rabao and get your Tele Altep crystal on the way I would be willing to help with that as well.

Also, weekends are best for me to show people around, if I'm in my static or helping with something else don't be discouraged, just ask me again sometime ^^

Oh and yes, Ifrit's Chauldron = Death but it's a neat place to see at least once. I tried mining there but the risk wasn't worth the payoff to me ^^

Okay Wintaru, I'll go to Carpenter's Landing with you. I'll see if I can puzzle out how to get there.

Consider it returning the favor for the Zi'tah offer. ^^

Nata, Win, Entrance to Carpenter's landing is in jungar forest on the west side right by 'maiden's spring' (E-6) there's a cave that will bring you in it. You'll be welcomed by some frog/shroom looking things inside but things aren't hard..i believe the lvl is about the same as jungar forest. Of course you could always wait for the boat that comes every 30 mins in North Sandy.

Arondight, I've been to the hell pit a few times. I wouldn't mind going back to play recklessly with my life. Who knows, I may actually strike it rich with some adamant. I know the essential layout of the place and there's this cool opening where there's some kind of breeding ground for dragons (there were like 5 or 6 in this open area)

As far as the thread goes, I would also be up for some CoP adventuring, I've only been to bibiki bay and Carpenter's and the clamming isle that I can't pronounce let alone spell.

edit: cause I felt like it

There are 3 entrances to carpenter's landing and the levels around each are different. The one on the east side of jugner leads to the southern landing area with mobs ~battalia level. The one on the west side of jugner leads to central landing with mobs ~jugner level. The 3rd one entrance is in N. Sandy across from the carpenter's guild. The mobs in Northern landing are pretty low level. Not sure which zone I'd relate it to though, they were easy/too weak to 22 though. The same mushrooms, flytraps, beetles, tigers, and orcs all around. The boat rides are a bit...time consuming. Not the actual trip (though the one that goes from south to north is long) but the wait for the boat going where you want to go can take FOREVER. Take some hatchets, get some logging in while you wait =) Personally I just ran out of the zone and went through other zones, it was much faster than waiting on the boat hehe.

Oh yes, if I recall correctly there is a NM somewhere in either central or southern. Never did read what level it was, but a group of 60s supposedly smacked it down without even breathing hard when they stumbled across it. Which doesn't really tell you much LOL

Get to Carpenters Landing through Jugner Forest. There are a couple entrances & I only remember one. It is around (J-8) on the map in a cave where tigers spawn.

By the way - I am going to try and go to Zi'Tah tonight to kill a little tree and finish up the Samurai quest. I will say hi if I see ya or will see when you guys are going out there and maybe join you.

Wouldn't it be faster if you just buy a stack of oils and a stack of prism powders and sneak around the new areas on your own? Travel in large groups attracts way too much aggro. Self administered sneak/invis is always faster/safer than someone following you around casting them. On top of that oil/powders is magic aggro free.

I could so see a whole tour group get wiped out at Ifrit's Cauldron. The mobs are all aggro by sight, sound, AND magic aggro AND packed in tight tunnels. Did I mention that they are descent challenge to level 75s and bombs will detonate when near death? Going there in groups sounds like a deathwish to me. Better go as lvl 1's. XD

Well I wasn't planning on offering a tour of Ifrit's lol.

At least we can Choco around Zi'tah and not worry about aggro:)

Count me in ^.^ You know me, I love to play tour guide.

My favorite place to tour is Purgonogo Island and the rest of the Bibiki Bay Tours.

If anyone ever wants to go there I'll be happy to head another field trip over. ^.^b

I also love taking Carpenter's Landing trips, and I have certain favorite spots all around the world that I don't mind showing people whenever they have time.

Me and my friend Jachy are hopefully planning a go-around Uleagaurand's Range and as soon as we are able to figure out a path through there, I'll be happy to tour others around ^^

Oh, and if you do go with me, I tend to point to the sun or moon and say, "Lookie! Sunrise!" or "Lookie! Sunset!" and make you stop to watch, so beware ^^

Good idea!! Here's the adventuring and exploration!!
(man, I say that a lot, don't I? ^^)

I am gonna get the key - but I should have enough time to at least go out to Zi'Tah, beat the bark out of a tree, warp back to Jeuno etc.

We arent starting with the key till at least 5pst and I usually get on around 3pst ^^

Lil off topic, but a place you should really check out is the Maiden's Spring in Jugner Forest. It's in the northwest corner, marked on the map. Very pretty. :)

Ifrit's Cauldron's a great place to explore. Really, it's only dangerous the first few times you go there. After the third or fourth time you should have the movements of the bombs and bats down by heart, the rhythms of the fire spouts to memory, and the locations of the mining points down to a tee.

Now getting that Orichalcum.. that's a different story. ;)

I want to get a tour of Attow Chasm and maybe see if tiamat is around.

Also wanna check out inside temple of ugblah.... tonneberry capital.
#17 Nov 11 2004 at 10:24 AM Rating: Decent
I could take you to where Tiamat is. I'll check with some folks (or maybe Ayril could tell us) if the Lunarians will be fighting him again this Friday? If so I'll see if I can get out there after my static is over. I need to do the map quest for that as well.

What I really want to do is get the promyvion crap out of the way so I could go exploring the Archipealago (sp?).

I also want to go exploring around Attohwa and find out where Tiamat spawns. Also that Ule...Range. I want to find out where all the new HNM dragons are located.
#19 Nov 11 2004 at 10:50 AM Rating: Decent
I believe Vtra is in Ranperre's tomb, in that harder area you teleport to.
#20 Nov 11 2004 at 2:35 PM Rating: Decent
Cool Wintaru.. I will look u up on friday then and let me know
#21 Nov 11 2004 at 2:43 PM Rating: Good
If I remember correctly from what I've read, all the mobs in the Ule Range have truesight. Just be warned, if you're gonna go look for Jormagund. ^^
